Teni was born on the 12th of December, 1992 in Lagos State, South Western part of Nigeria. She is currently 28 years old. However, she hails from Ekiti state. Teni started doing music at the tender age of two, although being from an education loving family. Teni had her secondary school education at the Apata memorial high school. Here, she was a member of the school band where she performed for several distinguished Nigerians including the former Military Administrator (Governor) in Lagos State, Muhammed Buba Marwa; Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN and former President Olusegun Obasanjo. After her secondary school education, she proceeded to the US to study Pharmacy. Teni released her debut single “Amen” when she was still with Magic Fingers Records. She left Magic Fingers Records and signed with Dr. Dolor Entertainment after which she started gaining prominence after releasing the single “Fargin” in September 2017. She made her breakthrough after releasing the hit singles “Askamaya”, “Case” and “Uyo Meyo”.
One of her songs, “Askamaya” which is a remix of one of the tracks in Sir Shina Peters’ album, “Omoge Loke Loke.’’ was ranked 15th on MTV Base’s Top 20 Hottest Naija Tracks at the end of 2018.
