Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah was born on December 19, 1970. His father was an Israeli national and his mother hailed from Owo, Ondo State. Ramsey Nouah spent a great deal of his life in Lagos State where he received his elementary, secondary and tertiary education. He attended Atara Primary School, Surulere, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate upon completion of his primary education. Thereafter, Ramsey Nouah enrolled in Community Grammar School, Surulere, where he obtained his Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. After completion of Secondary School, Ramsey Nouah pursued a degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos.

Ramsey Nouah began acting on television when he featured in the 1993 television show called Fortunes, alongside Liz Benson and Regina Askia. From the feature in the television soap opera, Ramsey Nouah ventured into acting for film projects. He has since featured in numerous films with profound recognition by the audiences and award-winning organizations for his artful depiction of his portrayed characters. Some of the films he has starred in are Silent Night, Camouflage, End of the Wicked, Fugitive, The Battle of Love, Power of Love, Valentino, My Love, Church Business, Break Up, Supa Love, Coming to South Africa, The Figurine, Tempting Fate, My Wife and I, Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons 1 & 2, and several others. In the movies he has featured in, Ramsey Nouah is known to effectively interpret a range of different characters.

After several years as an actor in the Nollywood industry, Ramsey Nouah took on film directing. He has successfully controlled two major film projects towards the fulfillment of the script. In 2019, Ramsey Nouah made his directorial debut with  Living in Bondage: Breaking Free. The following year, around November 2020, his second directed film project is Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story,  which is the remake of the 1995 classic, Rattlesnake. Ramsey Nouah’s both directorial projects achieved immense success at the box and received nominations for awards.

Ramsey Nouah’s contribution to the Nollywood movie industry has earned him accolades and recognition locally and internationally. Some of the awards he has won include the 2010 African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role in The Figurine, and the 2017 African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film, 76. At the 2020 Africa Movie Academy Awards, Ramsey Nouah received the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Living in Bondage: Breaking Free. He also won the Director of the Year for the same film at 2020 Best of Nollywood Awards. Ramsey Nouah’s debut film project,  Living in Bondage: Breaking Free won 7 awards on the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
