Early Life and Education
Peruzzi was born Tobechukwu Victor Okolie on December 5, 1989, to an engineer dad and a nurse mom. He is a native of Imo State. He is the last of three children and the only boy. At the early age of seven, he had already started recording music with Rodney Malice. He also started playing the piano at the age of seven and spent most of his childhood as a choir member in his local church.
Although Peruzzi was born in Delta State, he spent most of his life in Lagos State, except when he was a medical student at the Odessa National University in Ukraine. He did not finish medical school, however. He dropped out of school in his fifth year and returned to Nigeria. Before his undergraduate stint in Ukraine, Peruzzi completed his secondary school education at Command Secondary School, Ikeja, while he had his primary school education at Lerato Primary School, Egbeda, all in Lagos State.

Music Career
Peruzzi’s interest in music can be traced to when he was seven years old. At that time, he had begun playing the piano as part of his church’s choir and was even recording music with Rodney Malice. However, as a medical student in Ukraine, Peruzzi began doing random music gigs, and with the recurring positive feedback he received, he decided to focus solely on music. Hence his decision to forsake the pursuit of becoming a medical doctor.
Upon his return to Nigeria, he was signed as a singer to Anyaene’s Golden Boy Entertainment in 2016. Two years later, in 2018, Peruzzi was signed by Davido’s DMW record label. As a musical artist signed to DMW, he has released an EP and two albums as well as numerous singles and collaborations with other musicians in Nigeria and beyond.
One of the first songs Peruzzi released under the DMW imprint was Majesty, a single off his Heartwork EP that would be released later in 2018. The song which was produced by Speroach Beatz saw Peruzzi serenade his love interest and conclude her beauty was likened to that of royal majesty. Majesty enjoyed massive airplay and radio and TV stations in Nigeria and was featured in major music charts. But before he dropped Majesty, Peruzzi was featured as a guest artist on 2Face’s hit single Amaka.
In the last quarter of 2018, Peruzzi dropped the Heartwork EP. The EP had Davido, Broda Shaggi, DJ Ecool, Burna Boy, Mayorkun, Popcaan, Sugarbana, Barry Jhay, and Goodgirl LA as guest appearances while the production credits went to Fresh VDM, Speroach Beatz, Phantom, and Papii J. The songs of the EP include Majesty, Sangbana, Craze, Ola, Try, Dina, Interlude, Champion Lover, Did You, and Intro.
In 2019, a year after the release of the Heartwork EP, Peruzzi released his first album titled Huncho Vibes. But before the album launch, Peruzzi had released Nana, a love song, as the single, If the Huncho Vibes album. The song enjoyed massive airplay and did well on various charts across the country. When the album was finally released to the public, it contained songs like Destiny, Show Me Love, No Be Mistake, Mauriello, Gumbodi, Gerrout, Bounce, Sunshine, Only Me, and of course, Nana. Davido was featured on Vstix-produced Sunshine, an emotional love song many fans across the country loved.
Peruzzi’s second studio album titled Rum and Boogie was released in April 2021. There were several featured artists on the project such as Davido, Tiwa Savage, Phyno, Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, Set Up Patoranking, Fireboy DML, and Boy Lexxy. The songs included in the album include Juba, Telepot, See Love, Somebody Baby, Murda, Gunshot, Girlie, God Forbid, Matrimony, Lagbaja, Kalakuta, Baddest, Feeling Good, Change Your Style, Call, Baba God, Southy Love, Color, and Isolova. The production of the album was handled by Speroach Beatz, Show Beat, Zaki Amujie, M Eff, Fresh VDM, Vstix, Clemzy, Lussh, P Prime, and Rexxie.
