Early Life and Education
Victony, whose real name is Anthony Ebuka Victor, is a native of Orsu local government area in Imo State, but he was born in Lagos State. Victony was born on January 5, 2001, in the Ojo part of Lagos. He spent his formative years growing up in Ojo where he obtained his elementary and secondary school education. Currently, Victony is an undergraduate at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO).

Music Career
As a young child, Victony was influenced to do music by listening to artists such as Davido, Wizkid, M.I. Abaga, and Falz. So, he decided to hone his rap skills with the dream of pursuing a career in music. It was however on an episode of Ladipoe’s Revival Sunday Series that Victony had his first experience in the Nigerian music scene. On that episode of the Revival Sunday Series, Victony traded verses with Ladipoe. Shortly after, Victony released his first single titled Ina the Benz in 2018, and later on his debut EP on Soundcloud titled The Outlaw King, as an independent artist.
After he released The Outlaw King EP, Victony released covers of some international hit singles such as Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow, Moonlight by XXXTentacion, and Burna Boy’s On the Low. Victony soon switched from rapping to singing R&B, Afropop, and trap music.
In 2020, Victony got signed to Mainland BlockParty & Jungle Records. In the fourth quarter of 2020, Victony through Mainland BlockParty & Jungle Records released Saturn, a 6-track EP that combined R&B and Afropop. Falz was the only featured artist on that EP. The songs that make up the Saturn EP include More, Maria ft. Falz, Space Time, Fasta, 87 Club, and Jo Riddim. The EP was well appreciated by music lovers in Nigeria.
Victony also dropped Broken in 2020 which opened to a more extensive audience, becoming a hit. Sing My Song (S.M.S) was another song by Victony released in 2020.
In July 2021, three months after Victony survived a fatal car crash that claimed the life of his friend and left him confined to a wheelchair, he released a two-track EP titled Dark Times, which Blaise Beatz and Kizto produced. The songs in the EP we’re Pray and Unfamiliar Realms ft. Tredax. Pray enjoyed massive airplay in 2021.
His biggest break in the music industry was in October 2021 when he collaborated on Holy Father, a song off Mayorkun’s Back in Office album. The song was a commercial success, topping music charts and enjoying massive airplay across the country. Holy Father reached the number 1 position on the Apple Music Nigeria chart, while it peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Top Triller Global charts by the end of 2021.
The next major project Victony worked on was a collaborative EP with Rexxie, titled Nataraja which was released in the latter part of 2021. Rexxie was in charge of the production aspect of the EP while Victony rendered his vocals. The songs in the EP are Like That and Ego.
In 2022, Victony released several singles such as Apollo, Kolomental, and Soweto in preparation for Outlaw, an EP that would later be released that same year. Finally, Victony through Mainland BlockParty & Records dropped the Outlaw EP which consisted of 7 songs and guest appearances from KTIZO, Burna Boy, and Tempoe. The songs of the EP include Jolene, Chop and Slide, All Power, Soweto, Apollo, and Kolomental.
Victony has been featured as a guest artist on several songs such as Burna Boy’s Different Size, Hoodini’s Euphoria, and DJ Tunez Bad Girl, among others. He’s also performed at numerous top events and music shows across the country such as the December 2021 show where stood to perform for the first time alongside Davido and Mayorkun after being confined to a wheelchair for eight months. He was also invited to perform in the 2022 Edition of the Big Brother Naija reality television show.

Victony’s Involvement in a Fatal Car Crash in 2021
If you’ve watched the music videos of Victony’s songs such as Holy Father and Kolomental, you’d notice that he’s seated in a wheelchair. On April 21, 2021, Victony was involved in a fatal car crash that led to the death of his friend, Doyin. Victony survived but lost his ability to walk, leading him to be confined to a wheelchair as shown in his music videos. However, by December 2021, he was able to walk unassisted. According to a post he made on his Instagram page in January 2023, he’s taking some months off to go for surgery for his legs.
