Many people probably do not know that the real name of the popular ‘Sikiratu Sindodo’ is Tayo Odueke. She was born on the 21st of February, 1976 and hails from Ijebu Ode in Ogun State. She is a talented Yoruba movie actress, movie producer and single mother of one.
The actress had her daughter, Damilola, at the age of 21. Tayo Odueke is also popular because of the many controversies that spark around her personality. The actress is most popularly known as Sikiratu Sindodo.
Tayo Odueke came into the limelight following her role in the movie ‘Sikiratu Sindodo,’ where she acted the role of a wayward lady. Her outstanding performance in the movie not only earned her the nickname and the limelight but as she affirms, bought her into many controversies as well
Controversies
Some might even refer to her as the Queen of controversies. Since the actress got into the entertainment industry, she has been involved in one controversy after another. However, this has not affected her career as her profile seems to be more on the rise and she has built herself in her profession.
Sikaratu Sindodo had an affair with the Lagos State Treasurer of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo, who is also popularly known as the king of Area boys. Her affair with MC Musiliu Oluomo was mostly talked about in and outside the movie industry a few years ago, sometime in 2008.
The actress publicly declared her love for the man and this earned her the respect of many of her fans. This was because MC Olumo is one known to have had affairs with many actresses but often times; these actresses would deny their relationship with him or the fact that he usually gave them money and gifts. However, this was not so with Sikaratu Sindodo.
However, the relationship fell apart with many rumours accompanying it, many claimed she cheated on him or that there was jewelry of MC Oluomo which was allegedly stolen by the actress.
After this incident, sometime in 2014, the actress affirmed her relationship with Fuji musician, Alao Malaika. However, she said they were into a relationship just for fun and not for the purpose of marriage. Malaika used to be a close friend of MC Oluomo.
Tayo Odueke was once arrested for killing a 16-month-old child under strange circumstances, this was in 2011. However, the case was dropped against her.

Sikaratu Sindodo needs no introduction in the Yoruba genre of the Nigerian movie industry. The actress was shot into the limelight after her remarkable interpretation of the character of a wayward girl in the movie, ‘Sikaratu Sindodo’. The popular movie featured other famous acts such as Yomi Fash Laso, Opeyemi Aiyeola, Toyin Adegbola, Tayo Odueke, Faithia Balogun, Babatunde Omidina, Yinka Quadri, Taiwo Hassan, among others.
The first film in which Tayo Odueke acted in was titled Hired Assassin. It was an English movie directed by Charles Novia. The actress tells of how at that time she had no intention of becoming an actress. She had only gone with a friend of hers to an audition at Surulere, Lagos state. There she had met people such as Grace Ama, Ayo Adesanya, JT Tom-West, among others. In the movie, she acted as a bodyguard to Segun Arinze’s character in the movie.
It was while on that set, Segun Arinze directed her to a woman who was about shooting a Yoruba movie. This was how she really got into the movie industry.

Tayo Odueke’s Personal Life
Although Tayo Odueke is known to be very controversial in the movie industry because of her behavior and lifestyle, the actress holds a very personal life when it comes to her family. She explained that her hobbies her traveling and shopping. She also refers to her daughter, Damilola as a best friend and says she has not yet shown interest in acting.
Background
As a child, Tayp Odueke’s father wanted her to become a newsreader while a mother wanted her to become a lawyer. She attended Mainland Preparatory Nursery and Primary School in Surulere for her elementary education, then proceeded to the Methodist Girls High School, Yaba, Lagos, for her post-elementary education.
Tayo Odueke did a two-year diploma course in Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan. After which she studied Creative Arts at the University of Lagos but did not graduate.
While her parents had always known about her passion for acting, her dad was not entirely pleased with it. He, however, accepted it and became proud of her when she became famous.
At the moment, Tayo Odueke seems to be focusing on her daughter whom she describes as her best friend and who she does not like talking about on the media. She is also focusing on investing her money wisely. Tayo is also very passionate about her job and wishes to take her production company international.
