Musa Danjuma: Things You Didn’t Know About Him

Musa Danjuma is the younger brother of General Theophilus Danjuma, a former Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Gen. Danjuma is also the chairman of South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO).

Musa is a businessman with interests in the shipping and paint industries. He was born on the 4th of November, 1954.

Education

Musa Danjuma was trained as a lawyer. He graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University where he studied law. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in Lagos where he was called to bar.

Musa also has exposure in business management and administration and he has participated in several related courses, some of which include: the Chief Executive Programme, Lagos Business School; Development of Nigeria Legal System and Nigerian National Shipping Policy & Maritime Trade.

 

Business

Musa Danjuma is the Executive Chairman of Nigeria America Line Limited and Cornet Shipping Agencies Nigeria Limited. He’s also the Non Executive Director of Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, a position he has held since September 14, 2000.

 

Marriage

Musa’s sojourn hasn’t been exactly straight forward. He’s been married five times. His last marriage was with Caroline Ekanem, a former actress. They got married some time in 2004. Their marriage lasted ten years and produced three children.

Musa’s first wife was Dr. Nkiru Nzegwu-Musa. She died at the age of 57 after a protracted battle with kidney disease. She was a lawyer, author and poet.

 

Also, Nkiru was a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She practiced as a lawyer for 31 years. Her marriage to Musa Danjuma produced four daughters, Saratu, Asibi, Jennifer and Jessica. They are all lawyers.

Musa married Pauline after leaving his first wife. He was captivated by her beauty but that didn’t exactly keep him faithful as he would go on to marry two other women.

 

Caroline Ekanem

Musa met Caroline after four failed marriage but that it didn’t seem Musa had learnt how to avoid a failing marriage. His marriage to Caroline was plagued with a cycle of negative events from incessant squabbles, infidelity to even battery.

 

After a decade, Caroline called it quits with Musa and they have since begun divorce proceedings.

On social media, Caroline deleted all the pictures she had taken in the past with Musa. She also shared a post in which she indicated that she was single and ready to mingle.

 

After the marriage fell apart, Caroline also shared a long post on her instagram page where she talked about the issue she faced in her marriage with the billionaire businessman. Below are the highlights of some of the things she said:

First, Caroline stated that all men cheat but she feels that her husband should have had a limit with his philandering. She claimed that she continued to stay in the marriage because of her love for him.

 

Also, Caroline stated that Musa added a lot of value to her in the course of her marriage. According to her, if she were to rate her marriage in terms of the university systems in the world, she would call her marriage Harvard.

According to Caroline, every single storm she faced made her see the strength within that she never knew she had. And she was able to continuously forgive her husband and love him unconditionally.

 

In the course of her marriage, Caroline was also able to discover herself and work on her personal flaws. Most importantly, she was able to avoid any form of confrontation with Musa’s concubines except on one occasion when she was being threatened by one of them.

Caroline reiterates that it’s being a good fight and she tried her best to sustain her marriage unfortunately, it didn’t just work out as she expected. According to her, she never wanted to give up, but in this case she had to just let go.

 

And to every one condemning her, she says they have not right to judge her. Even those that keeping contacting her directly to intimate her of her Musa’s escapades, she’s really not interested in monitoring a man old enough to know what to do.

As for her, she will continue to strive to be a better person and she will continue to see her husband as a man who takes good care of their kids and as someone that has continued to support her financially. Although it may seem that their differences were irreconciliable she’s certainly blessed to have him in her life.

 

On a final note, she will never forget every good deed that her husband has done and her duty now is to ensure that her kids grow up in the proper environment.

 

Latest beau

Musa has been known with many women apart from his legitimate wives. The most recent once is Mya Hassan.

Mya is a U.K based model. Reports in the media have claimed that anytime she’s in town, she’s usually at Musa’s home.

But Mya recently had a baby and she has dispelled any rumours that the child belongs to Musa. She named the child after her footballer boyfriend, Diafra Sakho.

 

Children

Musa has several children. His first wife had four daughters with him while Caroline had three children with him with the most recent child born on the 13th of September, 2014.

 

Theophilus Danjuma

General Theophilus Danjuma is the older brother of Musa Danjuma. Danjuma is one of the richest men in the country and he is said to be worth over $400 million. He was born into a family of farmers in Taraba State. But Danjuma was able to get a formal education and later enrol in the Nigerian Army.

Danjuma was involved in the coup of 1966. He has also being involved in peace keeping missions in Congo. Between 1975 and 1979, Danjuma was the Minister of Defence under the Olusegun Obasanjo regime.

He is currently the chairman of South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO). He is also the chairman of NatCOM Development and Investment Limited popularly known as nTel.
