Kenny Blaq – Early life
Kenny Blaq was born in Ejigbo, Lagos state to a family of seven children. He is the youngest of all the children. His mother gave birth to twins twice. Kenny Blaq has a twin sister called Taiwo Otolorin. Kenny Blaq had his primary and secondary school education in Ejigbo, Lagos state. He left secondary school in SSS3 and went to a tutorial centre. This was because the school had asked for payment for second and third term school fees at once and Kenny Blaq’s parents could not afford that. He took his West African Examination Council Examination (WAEC) while at the tutorial school. It was after this he went on to study presentation at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria. At the start of his career, his parents were skeptical and did not agree with it because most of his shows were late-night shows, His parents thought this will be of bad influence on him, making him smoke and drink. Kenny Blaq was later able to convince then he would not forget his home training and values. He also made them understand this was his life passion.
Comedy Career
Blaq started his comedy career in 2008. Here, he participated in a beauty pageant tagged Mrs. Ejigbo. This was the first time he ever held a microphone to perform in public. Comedy enthusiasts began to notice Kenny Blaq in 2011 when he participated in the Calabar carnival. The Calabar Festival is a popular event that is a good platform for any upcoming entertainer to display his/her skills. After noticing the talented artist, many organizers of large events began to invite him to perform at events. His popularity grew rapidly.
Over time, due to his consistency at performing at events, he started to become a household name in the comedy scene. Now, he is a huge part of most of the comedy events in Nigeria.
Kenny Blaq studied at the Federal Radio Corporation Nigeria, Lagos Training School. The goal of the training was to acquire skills in professional presentation. After this, he worked for “SMA FM”, a college community-based radio station in connection with the training school. Here, Kenny Blaq was a presenter in a musical-comedy talk show.
The comedian then ran his own project, titled ‘Making A Difference’, abbreviated as M.A.D. He kicked off this project in Ejigbo, Lagos state. Its purpose was to unite society and inspire people to strive for their goals.

Kenny Blaq organized a show called The Oxymoron of Kennyblaq. This show went on to win the Best Comedy Show at the 2017 and 2018 Naija 102.3 FM Comedy Awards.
The Kenny Blaq State of Mind, was another show of his organized by SMADE Entertainment. The event was held at Indigo at the O2 in London on September 30, 2018. Here, Kenny Blaq had his first major headlined international event, titled “Kenny Blaq ‘State of Mind” The show had successfully made its way down to Nigeria from London.
Blaq also appeared at “Indaba X; The Laughing Leopard Comedy event”, which took place at Royal Festival Hall in London.
In 2018, Blaq was recognised as one of the 100 most influential youths in Africa. In 2020, he received the Ooni Youth Royal Award. Kenny Blaq and his crew made their first university tour at the Federal University of Technology Owerri before moving down to Obafemi Awolowo University Campus.
