Odunlade Adekola is the most popular Nollywood Yoruba actor. The actor is famous for his good looks as well as his fantastic acting.

Adekola has featured in over 100 movies since he debuted as an actor in the mid 90s.

He is known for movies like Asiri Gomina, Oyenusi, Taxi Driver, Wives on Strike, Baba Super and Ila owo

Adekola is married to Ruth Adekola and they have 3 children together. The actor’s popularity has landed him lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of Glo, Goldberg and Conoil.

He is also the CEO of Odunlade Adekola Film Productions where he trains upcoming actors and actresses. Tunde Owokoniran is one product of the acting school that has been able to break in to the Yoruba film industry.

  1. Okechukwu Ukeje

Popularly called OC Ukeje, Okechukwu Ukeje is one of the finest actors Nollywood has produced. He was initially a reality TV personality before he ventured into acting.

Although he has been acting for less than a decade, he is currently one of the most popular Nollywood faces. He has received several awards, some of which include Africa Movie Academy Awards, Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Nollywood Movies Awards, Best of Nollywood Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards.

Some of the awarding winning movies which he has featured in include Two Brides and a Baby, Hoodrush, Alan Poza, Confusion Na Wa and Half of a Yellow Sun.

  1. Bryan Okwara

Bryan Okwara was a former Mr Nigeria winner. The same year, he won the Mr Nigeria; he also reached the semi finals of the Mr World Pageant. His good look has made a popular model and actor.

  1. Blossom Chukwujekwu

Blossom Chukwujekwu is another handsome Nollywood actor. He is quite popular with the ladies due to his facial features and buff physique.

Chukwujekwu is a native of Nnewi in Anambra State although he was born in Benin City in Edo State. He studied Mass Communications at the Anambra State University of Science and Technology.

He began acting while in the University. He was a prominent member of the popular House of Theatre (H.O.T) where he played the lead in the stage drama, Godless: The path to dawn.

According to him, it was his role in this stage play that made him realise he could carve out a career in acting.

Some of the movies he has starred in include Flower Girl (2013), Finding Mercy (2013), Knocking on Heaven’s Door (2014), The Visit (2015), A Place Called Happy (2015) and Ghana Must Go (2015).

Also known as Nollywood’s Lover boy, Ramsey Nouah is another handsome actor. He began his acting career in 1993 when he starred in the popular Nigerian TV soap opera, Fortunes. He has since gone to star in several award winning movies.

Nouah is actually mixed race as his father is an Israel while his mother is a Nigerian (Yoruba)

He is also one of the richest actors in Nollywoood. The actor is happily married to Emelia Philips and they have 3 children together.

  1. Uti Nwachukwu

Uti Nwachukwu became popular when he featured in Big Brother Africa 3. He was the third evictee but he would later feature in the Big Brother All Stars in 2010 where he emerged winner. Prior to these, Uti had featured in the Next Movie Star where he finished as first runners up

Nwachukwu bagged a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Education from Benson Idahosa University, Benin City.

The handsome actor and model began his acting career in 2011. His career got on to a bang as he won the 2012 GIAMA Best New Actor Award which was held in the US.

Nwachukwu is also a co-host on the popular show, Jara.

  1. Desmond Elliot

Desmond Elliot is an actor cum politician. Elliot is one of the handsome faces of Nollywood.

In his early days as an actor, he was the face of Tantalizers food chain for many years. The actor has featured in over 200 Nollywood movies. Some of which include Men Who Cheat, Reloaded, Yahoo Millionaire, 30 Days in Atlanta and Atlanta.

He was also a one time Glo Ambassador. Elliot is a graduate of Economics from the Lagos State University.

 

He is married to Victoria Elliot and they have four children together.

  1. Yul Edochie

Yul Edochie is the son of the legendary Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie. His father named him after the popular Russian actor Yul Brynner.

Despite his fine looks, he got married quite early. Yul got married at the age of 22. He got married to May Aligwe and the couple have 2 sons and a daughter.

He attended the University of Port Harcourt, where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts.

Since his debut as an actor in 2005, Yul has starred in over 200 movies to date. He has also won several prestigious acting awards.

  1. Gideon Okeke

Known for featuring in Big Brother Naija in 2008, Gideon Okeke is a hunk and a popular face in Nollywood.

He studied Biochemistry at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He would later go on to finetune his acting skill by enrolling in the Lee Strasberg institute in New York where he obtained professional training in acting

The actor is also a model and a TV Presenter. He was the host of the DSTV game show, ‘Money drop.’

Okeke joined the cast of the popular MNET TV series, Tinsel and featured consistently till date. He has featured in the South African TV series Jacobs cross.

Alex Ekubo is another handsome Nollywood face. He was the first runner up at the 2010 Mr Nigeria contest.

He has enjoyed a smooth transition from modelling into acting. In 2013, he received the Best Actor in a Supporting Role Award at the Best of Nollywood Awards for his role in the movie, ‘Weekend Getaway’.

Ekubo received a Diploma in Mass Communications from Calabar Polytechnic before proceeding to the University of Calabar to study Law.

Ekubo debuted as an actor in the movie, Sinners in the House in 2005. It was a minor role, he would later feature in major role many years letter. Oluwabankole Wellington is known by his stage name, Banky W. He is a musician cum actor. His first major movie was Wedding Party where he starred alongside Adesua Etomi.

Apart from his singing and acting skills, Banky W is also known for his good looks. He was born in the United States where he also completed his University education. He studied at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.

He is the CEO of the record label, Empire Music Entertainment popularly called E.M.E. He released his debut studio album in 2005 while he starred in his debut movie in 2016.

Banky W is a graduate of the prestigious New York Film Academy. He is married to actress, Adesua Etomi. They got married in South Africa on the 25th of November, 2017.

Seun Akindele is one of the most talented Nollywood actors. He is known for his role in movies like On Bended Knees, The Antique and Heroes and Villains.

Akindele has been acting since 2005. He studied History and International Relations at the Lagos State University.

The actor won the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards Best Young Actor in 2013. Also, Seun Akindele won the “Best Kiss in a Movie” at Best of Nollywood Awards alongside Roseanne Marcel.

Akindele got married to his beau, Toun in July 2016.

  1. Joseph Benjamin

Joseph Benjamin is a Nigerian television presenter, voice-over artist, actor, and model. He is popular for co-hosting the MTN’s Project Fame, a talent reality show.

He has starred in movies like Tango with Me, Mr. and Mrs., and Murder at Prime Suites. Benjamin has been acting since as far back as 1991 when he starred in the movie Cross roads alongside Ramsey Nouah and Sandra Achums. Prior to that he starred in the TV programme, Tales by Moonlight but the road hasn’t necessarily been straight forward.

According to Benjamin, he has worked as bus conductor, security guard and waiter before finding his way to acting

Ikubese holds a Bachelor Degree in International Relations from the United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya.

He starred in the award-winning MTV series, Shuga as Femi.

  1. Bolanle Ninalowo

Bolanle Ninalowo is a popular face in Nollywood Yoruba movies. Ninalowo studied Accounting at Devry University and Marketing at Keller Graduate School of Management, both in America.

The former banker cum actor is one of the handsome faces in Nollywood. In 2010, the actor won the Revelation of the Year at the Best of Nollywood Awards.

Ninalowo is happily married with two children. Apart from his acting career, the actor also runs a car dealership which is a family business.

  1. Gabriel Afolayan

Gabriel Afolayan is the son of the legendary actor; Ade Afolayan popularly called Ade Love. The actor is popular for his good looks and brilliant acting. He is also a musician and has released singles like Awelewa and Kokoro ife.
