• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and One from Biology / Botany / Zoology / Agric Science / Economics / Physics / Geography / Mathematics

Forest Resources Management

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology or Botany or Zoology or Agric Science

Wildlife & Ecotourism Management 

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and One from Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric Science/Economics/Physics/Geography/Mathematics

 

2. Faculty of Arts

Linguistics

• At least 2 ‘A’ level passes to include any language (preferably an African Language) and another Arts or Social Science subjects.

Yoruba      

• At least 2 ‘A’ level passes to include Yoruba and another Arts or Social Science subjects.

Igbo 

• At least 2 ‘A’ level passes to include Igbo and another Arts or Social Science subjects.

Anthropology     

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in any 2 Arts subjects.

Arabic Studies     

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Arabic and any other Arts or Social Science subjects

Archaeology       

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in any 2 Arts subject.

Archeology Combined Degrees in any of the Followings: History, Classics, Religious Studies

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in any 2 Arts subjects

Classics

• 2 ‘A’ level passes including Lit-In-English or History
• NCE in relevant subjects

Communication & Language Arts    

• 2 ‘A’ level passes to include Literature in English and one other Arts or Social Science subjects.

English Language & Literature

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects to include Literature in English.

European Studies:

French       

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in French and any other subject in Arts and Social Science subjects OR the equivalent of ‘A’ level Certificate

French Combined Honours with one of German/Russian or with any other Arts subject.       

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in French and any other subject in Arts and Social Science subjects OR the equivalent of ‘A’ level Certificate

Russian     

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Russian and any other subject in Arts and Social Science subjects or the equivalent of A/L Certificate.

Russian Combined Honours with One of French/German or with any other Arts Subjects       

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Russian and any other subject in Arts and Social Science subjects or the equivalent of A/L Certificate.

German     

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in German and any other subject in Arts and Social Science subjects.

German Combined Honours with One of French / Russian

History      

• 2 ‘A’ level/NCE passes in History and any other related subjects.

History B.A Combined Honours (History and Political Science)

• 2 ‘A’ level/NCE passes in Arts and Social Sciences

Islamic Studies    

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Arabic and any other Arts or Social Science subjects

Music

• An ‘A’ Level Pass in Music plus any other 2 ‘A’ Level subjects
• Diploma in Music from recognized Institutions with a minimum of Upper Credit.
• NCE with major in Music with a minimum of an Upper Credit or Merit.
• Any good degree or HND with Grade VI ABRSM or MUSON Certificate.

Philosophy 

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in ONE Arts subject and any other Arts/Social Science or Science (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, e.t.c.) subject.

Religious Studies

• 2 ‘A’ level passes to include Religious studies or CRK and one other subject in Arts/Social Sciences

Theatre Arts

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Arts, Social Science or Science subjects.

 

3. Faculty of Education

Adult Education

• 2 ‘A’ level passes
• NCE with passes in 2 subjects at Merit level.

Educational Management      

• 2 ‘A’ level passes from Arts, Science or Social Sciences.
• NCE (merit/credit) in relevant teaching subjects available in Ibadan.

Guidance & Counselling

• ‘A’ level passes or NCE in 2 subjects (in teaching subjects available in U.I.)

Human Kinetics

• Diploma in Physical and Health Education with overall percentage of 60% plus UTME requirement

Health Education 

• NCE in Biology, Health Education plus UTME requirement.
• Registered Nurse plus UTME requirement

• 2 ‘A’ level passes/NCE merit level passes in 2 U.I approved Teaching subjects.

(d) Pre-Primary & Primary Education

• 2 ‘A’ level passes/NCE merit level in PRE – PRIMARY/PRIMARY EDUCATION plus one U.I approved teaching subjects.

Special Education 

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects.
• NCE merit level passes in Arts, Social Sciences and Science subjects.

Library Studies    

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in relevant subjects plus UME requirements.
• NCE merit passes in relevant subjects.

 

4. College of Medicine

Biochemistry

• 2 A level subjects from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology or Botany plus UME requirement.

Human Nutrition 

• 2 A level passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics plus UTME requirements.

Medicine & Surgery/Dentistry 

• 3 A level passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Zoology plus UME requirements. (ii) B.Sc in relevant fields.

Nursing

• 2 A level passes from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, plus UTME requirements.
• Candidate must possess any of the following professional qualifications and must have registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. 1. General Nursing 2. Psychiatric Nursing 3. Midwifery

Physiology

Same as for Biochemistry

Physiotherapy     

• 3 A/Level Passes in Physics, Biology or Zoology and one other Science subject plus UTME requirements.

Pharmacy  

• A/Level Passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics plus UME requirements
• Sc degree in relevant fields

 

5. Faculty of Science

Archaeology [Single Honours]

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects from among the following: Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology/Biology.
• OND/HND Computer Science or any other Mathematics based courses with grade of Upper Credit.

Archaeology Combined with: Geography, Geology, Zoology, Botany

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects from among the following: Geography, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, and Botany/Zoology.

Anthropology     

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects including Zoology / Botany / Biology

Botany      

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects in Botany or Botany/Biology and Chemistry.

Chemistry  

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects including Chemistry and one of Physics, Mathematics and Biology.

Computer Science

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics (pure or applied) and Physics
• OND/HND Computer Science or any other Mathematics based courses with grade of Upper Credit.
• I Professional Diploma in Statistics with 5/6 ‘O’ level credits including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject.

Geography 

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects including Geography and any other Science subject.

Geology    

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography and any other Science subjects.
• OND Geology Upper Credit.

Mathematics       

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects including Mathematics and any Science subject OR NCE with at least merit in Mathematics and one other approved Science subject.

Microbiology      

• ‘A’ level passes in Botany/Biology and Chemistry.

Physics      

• ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics, NCE and OND holders are eligible.

Statistics    

• 2 ‘A’ level subjects to include Mathematics or University of Ibadan Professional Diploma in Statistics (plus five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics)

Zoology     

• 2 ‘A’ level Science subjects to include Biology/Zoology

Economics  

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Government, History, Chemistry and Agricultural Science
• UI accepts own Diploma in Statistics with 2 year working experience into the first year of the third year Degree programme provided the candidate passes GCE O/L Credits passes (or equivalent) in five subjects including English, Mathematics and Economics.
• UI accepts 2 ‘A’ level passes but ‘O’ Level credits should include Mathematics and Economics.

Political Science   

• 2 ‘A’ level passes including Government or History.

Psychology

• 2 ‘A’ level passes including Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, Government, Geography, Economics or Mathematics.

Geography

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Geography and any one of Economics, Government and History.

Sociology   

• 2 ‘A’ level passes including Government or History

 

6. Faculty of Technology

Agricultural & Environmental Engineering

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UME requirements.

Civil Engineering  

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UME requirements.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering  

• At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics.

Food Technology

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UME requirements.

Industrial & Production Engineering

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UME requirements.

Mechanical Engineering

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UME requirements.

Petroleum Engineering

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UME requirements.

Wood Products Engineering

• 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UME requirements.

 

7. Others

Veterinary Medicine     

• ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology/Zoology, Physics/Mathematics.

Law          

• 2 papers at Advanced Level plus Credit in 5/6 other ‘O’ level subjects including English Language and Literature in English
