List of Unity Schools in Nigeria

Introduction

Unity schools were introduced in Nigeria to foster national integration and national building among young boys and girls from the different sections of the country, and geared towards producing detribalized citizens of academic excellence capable of functioning in capacities of leadership for the growth and development of Nigeria. Unity schools were aimed at reducing the suspicion and distrust that existed in the country. As these young boys and girls from different economic and social backgrounds, as well as different regions of the country, came together to play, study and integrate together, the distrust and rancor could be nipped in the bud early.
