UNIBEN Courses and Requirement.

General Requirements for Admission into the University of Benin

  • Candidates who wish to apply for any programmes under the faculties in the University must have at least 5 Credit passes in O level subjects to include: Mathematics, English and other subjects relevant to the chosen field of study either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) or its equivalent. This result must be obtained in not more than 2 sittings. Examination results can be combined but must not be more than 2 years apart.

Requirement for admission into the faculty of Arts

  • Candidates who wish to apply for programmes under the faculty of Arts must have at least 5 Credits passes in O level subjects to include: Mathematics, Literature in English, English language, Government, Economics and Biology either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) or its equivalent. This result must be obtained in not more than 2 sittings. Examination results can be combined but must not be more than 2 years apart.

Requirement for admission into the faculty of Social Science and Management Science

  • Candidates who wish to apply to the faculty of Social Science and Management Science students must have obtained at least 5 Credits in Mathematics, English, Economics, Accounting and Biology, either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) in not more than 2 sittings. Examination results can both be combined for admission process but must not be more than 2 years apart.
  • The candidate must make at least 200 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening by the University of Benin.

Requirement for admission into the faculty of Science and Engineering

  • Candidates who wish to apply to the faculty of Science and Engineering must make at least 5 Credits in Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in addition to Technical drawing for Engineering Students, obtained either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council). Results must be obtained in not more than 2 sittings and can be combined, that is, WAEC and NECO but must not be more than 2 years apart.
  • The candidate must make at least 200 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening by the University of Benin
