Pan Atlantic University Courses & Requirements

In 2002, the Federal Government approved of the Pan-African University, Lagos state. Located at Ibeju Lekki in Lagos state, it is the Undergraduate school of the famous Lagos Business School. In 2008, the National Universities Commission (NUC) approved the establishment of the School of Media & Communications in the school. In 2014, undergraduate programmes began at the University’s main campus. These programmes were four year courses in Accounting, Business Administration and Media & Communication. Pan Atlantic University Courses & Requirements

School of Management and Social Sciences

The School of Management and Social Sciences of the Pan-African University offers the following programmes:

  • A 4-year Bachelor of Science in Accounting
  • A 4-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
  • A 4-year Bachelor of Science in Economics

B.Sc. in Accounting

The B.Sc. Accounting programme of the Pan- African University has gained a special accreditation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) under its Mutual Cooperative Agreement with Tertiary Institutions (MCATI). This means that when you study Accounting with the Pan-African University, you will be exempted from 11 subjects out of 16 subjects examined by ICAN upon graduating. 

This accreditation allows the accounting graduates of the school to write only the final set of ICAN exams in order to be qualified as Chartered Accountants.

School of Media and Communication

Programmes under the School of Media and Communications are accredited by relevant academic and professional bodies such as National Universities Commission (NUC), Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). This school also guarantees internships in leading organisations and a broad humanistic and social scientific education. Programmes offered here are:

UTME Entry Requirements for B.Sc. in Mass Communication, B.Sc. in Business Administration, B.Sc. in Accounting and B.Sc. in Economics

  • Five credit passes in O’ level results which must include Mathematics, English and Economics with two others from these subjects: History, English Literature, Government, Civic Education, CRS/IRS, Commerce, Accounting, Business Studies and Marketing
  • The required UTME subjects are English language, Mathematics, Economics/Financial Accounting/Commerce and any other subject.

Direct Entry Requirements into the above courses

  • Two advanced level credits in Arts, Social Science or Science related subjects
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in relevant subjects
  • NCE with merit in a relevant discipline
  • An OND/HND credit level in a relevant discipline.

UTME Entry Requirements

  • Five credit passes in O’ level result in the following subjects: Mathematics and English and three subjects from History, English Literature, Government, Civic Education, CRS/IRS, Economics, Commerce, Business Studies and Marketing, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Agricultural Science)
  • The required UTME subjects are English language and any three of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Literature in English, History, Government, Economics, Geography and Agricultural Science.

Direct Entry Requirements 

To be eligible, an applicant must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. Two advanced level credits in Arts, Social Science or Science subjects.
  2. International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in relevant subjects.
  3. NCE with merit in a relevant discipline
  4. An OND/HND credit level in a relevant discipline.

Inter-university Transfer Requirements 

Pan-Atlantic university offers admission to students who wish to transfer from another institution of higher learning. Although, only a few transfer students are admitted each year and it is advised that applicants consider applying to other universities as well because there are is a chance they may be denied admission into Pan-Atlantic University 

Applicants must be able to show clearly that they are likely to make a significant contribution to Pan-African University  based on their past performance, demonstrated values, and experiences.

  • A transfer student must be a current student of the university from which he/she seeks to transfer
  • Applicants must have a clean disciplinary record
  • A transfer student from any Nigerian University is required to possess a JAMB score that is not less than the minimum score of the school students admitted into the intended department that year, neither should it be less than the minimum JAMB score as approved by the university
  • An applicant must have made a minimum cumulative grade point (CGPA) average of 2.50 on a 5.00 point scale in order to be considered for admission into 200 level. However, students with CGPA not lower than 1.50 may be considered for admission into 100 level
  • The application should be accompanied by student’s transcript for verification
  • A student can only transfer into the same course of study or a similar course to that which he or she was engaged or involved in the former University

If at any stage irregularity is discovered in the papers presented by the students, such students shall be withdrawn from the University.
