At the end of four years, a successful student is awarded the B.Sc. (Ed) degree. The B.Ed. degree is only awarded to graduates of Integrated Science Education.
Entry Requirements
Candidates who wish to apply for a B.A in education or B.Sc Education must have a minimum of five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and at the least, a pass in Mathematics.
Candidates who wish to be admitted into 200 level of the program via Direct Entry should pass relevant subjects at credit level at NCE or its equivalent. They must also have two relevant passes at Advanced level and three ordinary level relevant subjects.

- Hons Degree for students of Geography under the Faculty of Social sciences
- Ed. for students of Geography under the Faculty of Education. Both programmes run for four years.
ADMISSION Requirements: Admission into the various programmes offered by the Department of Geography are subject to meeting the minimum requirements and benchmark set up by the University Matriculation Examination Board, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Senate of Nasarawa State University.

Entry Requirements
- To qualify for admission into any of the departments of the faculty of Law, a candidate must possess credit passes in at least five (5) subjects to include English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics via Senior School Certificate or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level.
- The ‘O’ level result above must be obtained at not more than two sittings.
- A candidate must also have an acceptable score in the University Matriculation Examination (JAMB UME).
Direct Entry
A candidate seeking admission via direct entry must meet the following criteria:
- An Undergraduate Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any course, most preferably, in the Humanities. The candidate must also have recently obtained Credit passes in at least 5 ‘O’ Level subjects which must include English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics.
- Acceptable ‘A’ Level grade points in the Interim Joint Matriculation Examination (IJMB). In addition to 5 credit passes recently obtained in the following subjects: English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics
- Good performance in a face-to-face screening interview conducted to assess the communication skills and character of candidates.
Faculty of Natural and Applied science

Admission Requirements
- Candidates who wish to apply into the department must obtain credits in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and English Language via GCE O’Level, NECO or WAEC
- This result must be obtained in not more than two sittings
- Candidates must meet the requirements of the Joint Admission Matriculation Examination board through the University Matriculation Examination (UME)
- Candidates who wish to apply via direct entry must have obtained a minimum of credit passes at the National Diploma in courses related to the program, or must have obtained GCE – A Level or IJMB passes. Two of these passes must include Chemistry and Biology, in addition to O’Level credits passes in Mathematics, Physics, and English language.
- Students of the University, who have attended the Preliminary Studies Programme (Science) and have satisfied the requirements of the end of session examinations in the programme, may also be considered for admission into the four-year degree programme.

- Candidates who wish to apply to the Department of Economics must possess 5 credit passes in five subjects to include Economics, Mathematics and. English in Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) or their equivalent.
- Candidates who wish to be admitted via Direct Entry (a three-year program) must possess five credit passes in the General Certificate of Education or its equivalent. Two of these passes must be at an advanced level.
- Candidates who wish to join the department through the Remedial Program (four-year degree program) must have credit passes in at least four subjects including Economics at the ordinary level.
