School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology. Departments under this school are:

Admission Requirements for the departments above are:

(a) UME

Candidates via UTME must have a minimum of at least five credits at WASSCE/NECO/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent. This result must be obtained at not more than two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics or Geography, Biology or Agricultural  science and at least a pass in Physics.

  1. M. E. Subjects combination

English Language, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and any other subject from Physics or Mathematics.

(b) Direct Entry-level requirements

(i) Applicants must have met the requirements for the UME as listed above, in addition to a National Diploma or its equivalent with a minimum of upper credit

  1. ii) Higher National Diploma or its equivalent in relevant disciplines with a minimum of lower credit.

The ND/HND must have been obtained from FUTA UDS Program or any other recognized institution in Nigeria.

(iii) At least two credit passes obtained at one sitting in GCE (Advanced Level) or its equivalent in any of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Economics and Mathematics

 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

UTME Admission

Applicants seeking for admission via UTME of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board are admitted into 100 level. Candidates must have obtained at least five credit passes at O’ level examinations (GCE/WASSCE/NECO) or equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other relevant science subject. This result must be obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.

UTME Subjects combination: English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

  • Direct Entry Admission

The candidate applying via direct entry into 200 level must have met the requirements for UTME above, in addition to the following:

  • Grade C or above in Advanced level examinations/General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics
  • A minimum of upper credit Level or its equivalent in National Diploma in courses relevant to the proposed course of study from any recognized or accredited institution. Such courses includes: Computer Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

School of Environmental Technology

 Admission Requirements

UTME Admission:

Applicants via UTME are required to have at least five O’ level credits in SSCE/WASSCE/NECO or its equivalent, The result must be obtained at not more than two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other subjects from the following: Economics, Fine Art, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, and Geography.

UTME Subjects combination:

English Language, Physics, Mathematics, and any other from Chemistry, Geography or Technical Drawing.

  1. b) Direct Entry level requirement

Applicant via direct entry into 200 level must have met the requirements for UTME listed above, in addition to any of the following:

  • At least a credit level pass or above at GCE Advanced level in Cambridge International Examination (CIE), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) examination or its equivalent. This can be in any two of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Chemistry and Economics
  • At least an upper credit level pass in National Diploma (ND) in Architecture or its  related disciplines from any NBTE accredited institutions
  • Any other equivalent qualifications

School of Mineral and Earth Science

Departments under this school are:

Admission requirements for the departments above :

  • UME Admission:
  • Applicants via University matriculation examination into 100 level must possess at least five credit passes in O level examinations (NECO, WASSCE, GCE) or it’s equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Physics, Mathematics, and chemistry. This result must be obtained at not more than two sittings.
  • UME Subjects combinations are English Language, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

Direct Entry-level requirements

Candidates applying via direct entry into 200 level must have met the UTME requirements listed above in addition to any of the following:

  • A minimum of upper credit in National Diploma or its equivalent in Laboratory Technology (Geology Option), Mineral resources, Mining Engineering, Civil and Electrical/Electronic Engineering or any relevant course to the proposed course of study from any accredited or recognized institution
  • Credit passes at GCE (Advanced Level) or its equivalent in any of the following subjects: Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
  • For the course, Meteorology & Climate Science, A WMO Class II Certificate is acceptable

Admission requirements

  • UTME Admission
  • Candidates seeking admission via UTME must possess five credits in O’ level examinations (WASSCE, NECO, NABTEB, GCE) or its equivalent. This result must be obtained at not more than two sittings.

The credits should be in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two others from Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology, Accounting , Geography, Government or Commerce, Physics.

  • In addition to meeting the requirements above, applicants must obtain an acceptable pass in UTME examinations.

UTME Subjects combinations include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any one of the subjects listed in the O’ level requirements above.

  • Direct Entry Requirements

In addition to meeting the O’ level requirement above, candidates via direct entry must possess either of the following:

  • A minimum of 7 points in GCE Advanced level passes (or its equivalent) in Economics and any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Geography, Agricultural Science, Accounting and Business Management.
  • A minimum of an upper credit in National Diploma in relevant courses to Management Sciences from any recognized institution.
  • Good results obtained in IJMB, JUPEB and Cambridge examinations.

School of Sciences

Candidates via direct entry must meet the UTME requirements in addition to the following:

A minimum of upper credit or above at the ND or equivalent in courses relevant to the proposed course of study such as: Science Laboratory Technology, Science Technology, Food Science and Technology or Textile Technology.

Two ‘A’ Level passes in five ‘O’ Level subjects to include English, Physics Mathematics and Science subjects.

NCE with at least Merit in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other science subject.

  • School of Health and Health sciences

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

UTME

Applicants via UTME or Pre-degree program into the first year (100 Level) of the Federal University of Technology must have a minimum of five credit passes. The result must be obtained at not more than two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

UTME Subjects combination: English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Direct Entry level requirement

Students seeking admission via direct entry into the second year (200 Level) must meet the requirements for UTME above, in addition to any of the following:

  • A minimum of upper credit in National Diploma (ND) from any recognized or accredited institution. The ND should be in relevant courses to the proposed course of study, such as Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Dental Technology, Biomedial technology, Biology or any other related discipline
  • “A” Level passes (GCE Cambridge, JUPEB ) or its equivalent in any of the following subjects: English Language, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Result must be obtained at not more than one sitting.

Admission Requirements for UTME and Direct Entry

The entry requirements for the degree programme shall be:

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) requirements

  • UTME subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics
  • Candidates via UTME must have obtained five credit level passes in O’ level examinations (SSCE/NECO/WASSCE) or its equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Agricultural Science. Results must be obtained at not more than two sittings.

Direct Entry Requirements

Candidates via direct entry must in addition to meeting the O’ level requirements, posses the following:

  • A minimum of C grade in two subjects which are Mathematics, Chemistry, or Physics at A’ Level
  • At least an upper credit pass in National Diploma in Computer Science or any other relevant course from any accredited or recognized institution.
  • At least a credit pass at NCE in Computer Science/Mathematics; Computer Science/Physics or Mathematics/Physics or any other related discipline to the proposed course of study.
