Private Universities in Nigeria: Full List + Details

Private Universities in Nigeria have been on the steady rise since the year 2000, and have formed a formidable opponent, rather than compatriot for state and government universities.

The standard of acceptance in private universities is way more lenient than in public schools; hence, university admission seekers whose parents can afford it, have taken the better alternative to public schools.

Private Universities in Nigeria are distinctly more expensive to attend, compared to public schools and there are quite some private schools that have fees going as much as four times the fee of some public schools.

The advantage of sealing a private university admission is that you can set a graduation date right from your matriculation, and graduate on or around the period; thanks to the fact that private universities almost never go on strike. The uncertainty in graduation time in public schools is absent in private universities and that in turn brings rest of mind for both the ward/student and the parents.

There are over fifty (50) private universities in Nigeria, and we would try mentioning them to you with brief information accompanying each of them. Quickly, in no particular order, or preferably alphabetic, here are the active private universities in Nigeria.
