JAMB UTME Subject Combination for Political Science

To study Political Science, you have to take the following subjects in your Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. These are:

  • English Language(This is compulsory)
  • Government/History
  • Economics
  • Anyone other commercial or arts subjects.

 Admission Requirements

  • UME Entry Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to study Political science for four years must possess at least five credit passes at SSCE/GCE/NECO or their equivalent in the following subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Government/History, Economics. The result must be obtained in not more than two sittings.

Direct Entry requirements

Candidates via direct entry admission into the department of Political science must possess at least five credits passes in the SSCE/NECO/GCE or its equivalent examinations in addition to the following:

  • At least two or three credit passes at the advanced level. One of the compulsory subjects passed at the advanced level must include Government/History
  • A diploma with at least a merit pass from any accredited/recognized university or tertiary institution. The diploma can be in any of the following areas: Political Studies, Public Administration, Social works, Criminology, Mass communication, International Studies and Business administration.
