How to Apply for an OPay POS Machine in Nigeria

- Proceed to click on your name details located at the top left corner of the “Me” page on the OPay Business app interface
- Scroll down and select “Upgrade to KYC 2”
- On the next page that pops up on your screen, supply the information requested, including your Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Your account will be upgraded to KYC 2 instantly
Now you’ve successfully been upgraded to KYC 2, you’ll need to upgrade to KYC 3. Before you apply to upgrade to KYC 3, there are some things you’ll need. These include your verified residential address, passport, proof of address such as a utility bill or waste bill of not more than three months, and a valid means of identification including any of International Passport, Voters’ Card, Driver’s License or National Identity Card. - Click on your name on the “Me” page of the OPay Business app
- Click “Upgrade to Merchant”
- Supply your business information as required, and click “Next”
- Click “Upgrade”
- Wait for the OPay team to approve or decline your request
- Step 4: Apply for OPay POS on OPay Business App
After your OPay profile has been upgraded to “Merchant”, you can now apply for the OPay POS. Follow the steps below to apply for OPay POS:
- Log into your OPay account
- Select the “Merchant Apply” icon
- When the next page loads, provide all the information required
- Upload your bank statement showing your transaction history for the past three months
- Upload a valid means of identification
- Upload a picture of your business centre
- Submit for review
- Wait for approval
- Step 5: Pick Up the OPay POS
After your application for POS has been approved, you’ll get a message through your provided contact details to pick up the POS from an OPay office close to you.
