Marriage

The actor is married with two wives. Segun revealed in an interview that he has a very peaceful household as God has blessed him with wives that understand each other.

Interestingly, not many people knew he was a polygamist until he celebrated his birthday and his two wives took turns to wish him a happy birthday on Instagram. In fact, it was his second wife, Omowunmi Ajiboye that gave him a surprise birthday party which had several celebrities in attendance. Omowunmi is also an actress in the film industry.

Rumours

After the birthday celebration, there were rumours that Segun had married to two best friends. But the two wives took to Instagram to debunk claims that they are ‘best of friends.’

The first wife, Atinuke posted that no woman will be happy to share her husband but for the sake of respect and unity and because of the love they have for their husband we have become best friends.

Also, the second wife, Omowumi reiterated the same claims as she said they have become best of friends as a result of their marriage to the same man

Segun also told his side of the story. According to him, the source of the rumour was a particular lady. He had met her in the past and she wanted to marry him but he told her that he couldn’t marry a second wife. Eventually, when he met his second wife and married her, the lady he had jilted got very mad and she was the one that went on her Facebook wall to spread the false news that he got his first wife’s best friend pregnant and had to marry. Unfortunately, people that heard the news never verified but kept spreading it.

Initially, when the lady started spreading the rumour, Segun choose not to respond because he felt she was just exercising her freedom of speech. Also, he felt that speaking out would prolong the matter and he just wanted it to die a natural death.

Segun further revealed that he did not know who he could trust and reach out to tell his side of the story. His fear was that he could tell the wrong person and they could end up twisting his words, making matters worse so he remained mute and let the rumour spread.

But he has finally come out to clarify the controversy and the truth is his wives did not know each other before he got married to either of them.

The actor also responded to the rumour that his second wife, Omowunmi was part of his theatre group. According to Segun, Omowunmi wasn’t part of his theatre group; neither was she a part of my drama school. Instead, she had been his girlfriend for a very long time even before they finally got married.
