Kazakhstan Visa Requirements for Nigerians
Nigerians are required to get a visa before being granted entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan. To acquire any of the visa types offered by the country, you will have to submit the following documents.
- Visa application form filled and completed
- A color or black and white photograph measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm
- Nigerian passport
- Invitation letter based on the type of visa being applied for
Electronic Visa
The electronic visa is issued to applicants on the basis of a valid invitation from Kazakhstan. Foreign visitors can enter and leave the Republic of Kazakhstan using a valid electronic visa only through the checkpoints of international airports in the country.
Electronic visas allow you to make your applications online, answer only a few questions, and be provided your visa via email. This process is faster, more convenient, and will cost you less as you won’t have to make the trip to the Embassy.
The requirements for an Electronic visa include paying the consular fees and providing your Nigerian passport. The passport must meet the following requirements
- It must not raise doubts about its authenticity, contain notes on extension, erasures, entries, correction, torn or embossed pages.
- It must have at least 2 clean pages
- It validity period must be more than three days of the date of expiry of the requested visa
- It must not have any notes on the extension of the validity period.
How to Apply for an Electronic Visa
To obtain an electronic visa, you will have to register on the Visa and Migration Portal website.
- Once registered, you will have to enter the number of the invitation and fill in the necessary passport data. The number of invitations will be sent by the inviting party in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Pay the consular fee
- Print out the electronic visa which will be presented when passing the passport control at international airports.
Types of Kazakhstan Visa
There are many types of Kazakhstan visas issued to applicants based on the purpose of their visit.
- Investor visa– This is issued to heads and/or deputy heads of business units of legal entities. With this visa type, they are allowed to carry investment activities in the country of Kazakhstan. This visa type could also be issued to members of their families. The single entry visa option is issued for a period of 90 days while the multiple entry visa option can allow up to 3 years of stay.
- Business visa– This visa is offered to applicants looking to participate in conferences, forums, exhibitions, meetings, organizations of round tables, meetings of executives, conducting classes in educational institutions, and more. The business visa allows you to do business in Kazakhstan for a limited period of time. The single entry visa option provides entry for up to 90 days while the multiple entry visa option provides entry for up to 1 year.

- Visa for international road transport– This is issued to persons engaged in international road transport. The single entry visa option provides entry for up to 90 days while the multiple entry visa option provides entry for up to 1 year.
- Visa for crew members of sea, air, river vessels, and train crews– This visa type is issued to members of the crews of regular and charter flights. The single entry visa option provides entry for up to 90 days while the multiple entry visa option provides entry for up to 1 year.
- Visa for participation in religious activities– For persons traveling to Kazakhstan to participate in religious association activities, this visa offers only a single entry option for 90 days.
- Visa for practical training or internship– This visa is issued to persons traveling to Kazakhstan to practical training or internship. The single entry visa option provides entry for up to 90 days while the multiple entry visa option provides entry for up to 180 days.
- Visa for permanent residence– This visa type is issued to persons traveling to Kazakhstan to obtain permission for permanent residence in the country. The single and multiple entry visa options are issued for up to 90 days.
- Tourist visa– This visa is issued to persons traveling to Kazakhstan as tourists. The single entry visa option is issued for up to 90 days while the multiple entry visa allows for a stay for up to 180 days.
- Visa for transit travel– This visa is issued to persons traveling to Kazakhstan for transit travel through the country. The single entry visa option is issued for up to 90 days while the multiple entry visa allows for a stay for up to 90 days.
- Visa for employment– This visa type is issued to persons traveling to Kazakhstan or residing in the country for the purpose of carrying out labor activity. It could also be offered to members of their families. There are four sub-visa types to apply for which are; C3, C4, C5, and C6. The single entry visa option is issued for 90 days up to 1 year while the multiple entry visa option is offered up to a max of 3 years.
