  • A business invitation letter was sent to you by the sponsoring company in Kenya. To be considered, the letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Kenya, Visa Section”, and signed to a senior manager, a vice-president, or above. The letter should introduce the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, the nature of the business to be conducted, the type and validity of the visa.
  • The Business e-visa is a single entry visa type with a validity of up to 90 days. This visa is usually processed in 2 business days.

Types of Visa

The single journey visa as the name implies is a visa that gives you a single entry into Kenya for a maximum duration of 90 days. If you leave Kenya before the expiration of the validity period, you will have to reapply for a new visa to gain entry into Kenya again.

Multiple Entry Visa

If you’re on a business trip and you wish to go to Kenya, return to Nigeria and go back to Kenya within a short period of time, you will need the multiple entry visa. This visa type allows those who wish to travel times in and out of the country to do so. It is also great for tourists. This visa type has a validity period of one year.

East Africa Tourist Visa

Unlike other visa types that give you access to a single country, the East Africa Tourist Visa grants you entry to three countries – Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya. This is a multiple entry visa with a validity period of up to 90 days and can be collected at any of the three countries where you start your trip.

Transit Visa

For persons connecting through Kenya to other destinations, the Transit Visa is offered. Those connecting flights directly without leaving the airport won’t have to apply for this visa. However, if you’re not doing so, the visa allows for a stay not exceeding 72 hours.

Courtesy Visa

This visa is issued to official and service passport holders coming into Kenya on official duties or transiting through Kenya to another country for official business or duties. It does not come with a charge.
