Types of Egypt Visa

The Egypt Tourist Visa: Egypt is famous for its historical monuments. The country, therefore, ranks high on the list of tourist destinations around the world. The immigration authorities of Egypt issue the Egypt tourist visa to foreigners who have satisfied the requirements to obtain the visa. In order to process your Egypt visa, the embassy of Egypt in Nigeria demands that you submit certain supporting documents as requirements to process your Egypt visa. These include:

  1. International passport:

It is required that one’s international passport is at least two pages. The passport must also be kept valid for three months after the proposed departure date from Egypt.

  1. Completed visa application form

The information in your application form must tally with that on your supporting documents. The application form must be filled using a computer, and the Adobe PDF Reader or any other functional PDF readers.

  1. Passport photographs

You must have two recent copies of identical passport photographs. These passport photographs must have a white background and capture your whole face.

  1. Bank statement of account

The embassy demands that you provide your bank statement which must be not less than 14 days. The bank statement must be properly signed and stamped.

  1. Original copy of travel insurance certificate.

You will be asked to provide your original travel health insurance and one photocopy for the Egypt visa application.

  1. Hotel reservation voucher.

If applying for tourism visa and have no host in Egypt, you must provide a copy of your hotel reservation. This reservation must remain valid through the entire duration of your Egypt visa application. The embassy will also contact the hotel to confirm that your hotel is valid.

  1. Invitation letter

The invitation letter is one written from your friend, family or business partner in Egypt. The letter should state your relationship with the person and your time of visit as well as intended departure from Egypt.

  1. Property documents

In order to obtain a Temporary Work Permit (TWP), you must provide the following documents:

  1. Passport that will be valid for 6 months
  2. Printed copy of completed application form
  3. Two recent passport size photographs
  4. Copy of the Letter of Approval from Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service

Business Visa:

Self-sponsored businessmen may not require a letter of invitation but will be required to show evidence of sufficient funds

When applying for a business visa, the following documents are needed:

  1. Passport with at least 6 months validity
  2. Landed property documents
  3. Car ownership papers
  4. Completed visa form with four recent passport photographs
  5. Four copies of letter of Expatriate Quota Approval from Ministry of Interior
  6. Four copies of applicant’s credentials, certificates, and curriculum vitae. These documents must all be vetted by an official of Nigerian High Commission/Embassy
  7. Four copies of offer Letter of Employment
  8. Four copies of Letter of Acceptance of employment, signed by expatriate
  9. Visa Payment Receipt and Visa Acknowledgement Receipt by the Nigeria Immigration Service
