Ahmadu Bello University popularly called ABU is one of the most popular federal universities in the country.

In this post, we will be looking at the postgraduate school fees of ABU but before we do that let’s find out a few things about this prestigious university.

• The university was initially named the University of Northern Nigeria when it was founded on the 4th of October, 1962.
• ABU was founded in Zaria however; the university currently has two campuses. The first one which is the main campus is located in Samaru while the second one is located in Kongo in Zaria.
• ABU has a pre-degree School that is located in Funtua which is just a few kilometers away from the main campus.
• The university is named after the first premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello.
• ABU is reputed to have one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country which the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital.
• When ABU opened in 1962, a total of 462 students were admitted into the 15 departments distributed across 4 faculties.
• Some of the notable alumni of ABU include Atiku Abubakar, Jerry Gana, Nuhu Ribada, Ibrahim Shekarau, Dino Melaye and many others.
• Currently, ABU Zaria is said to have one of the best postgraduate schools in the country.

When applying, you’ll need to purchase an application form. If you’re enrolling for the Master’s degree, it will cost N10500. And if it’s the Post Graduate Diploma form, it cost the same amount.

Once you’ve been admitted, you’ll have to pay an acceptance fee. Generally, the fees paid for a Master’s degree at any department in the Faculty of Sciences isn’t always the same with other faculties.

A Master’s Degree costs $5100 while a Post Graduate Diploma costs $4500. On the other hand, a Master’s Degree in the Sciences costs $5950.
