How to use it

Before you can use the First Bank Internet or mobile banking service, you will need to first register. You will have to visit their website and fill out a form. After submitting the form, the bank will provide you with Online banking ID and PIN.  You can use the pin to log into your account online. However, the bank encourages you to change the pin at your first login.  The new pin you have chosen can then be used to log into your account any time and any day you feel like.

In order to access internet banking service provided by First Bank, your device needs to be connected to the internet. This is never the case when you are using mobile banking service, in which transaction information is delivered directly to your mobile device without the need for internet.

The online banking site provided by First Bank is highly secure as hinted earlier.  The security is evident by the “https” that comes before the url.  SSL certificate is activated once you are on the Online Banking site if you are accessing the site using internet browsers, like Safari  3.2, Firefox 3.0 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher.  The “https://” will turn green, giving evidence to complete security on the website.

The security being referred to here means that all sensitive information about your account will be encrypted. This means an unauthorized third party will never be able to decode the information. Once you log in, your identity is verified for authenticity by the Identity Verification Feature  built into the website. This feature is able to detect very easily any uncharacteristic online banking behaviour. First Bank ensures that information, like your Tax ID numbers, Social Security Numbers, bank account numbers and the likes are not on display to further improve on security.

Furthermore, it is very easy to change your PIN and Online Banking ID right on their website.  These can also be changed as many times as you like.  You only need to visit the Online Banking Home Page and select “Settings”. You will be presented with a prompt on the “Personal” screen. Just follow the prompt to change the PIN and the user ID.

Did you mistakenly reveal your User ID and Pin to a third party?  All you need to do is to change it again on the Online Banking home page.  First of all, log into the Online Banking page and get the Pin and ID changed without delay.  Select Settings and follow the prompt presented to you.  After this, you should place a call to First Bank Customer Service Representatives. The number to call is (601) 684-2231. You can get through to them from 8:20 in the morning to 4:30 in the evening from Monday through Friday.

Your account is automatically locked if you type in wrong PIN and ID or you misplace them. This happens when the information is entered a multiple times. First Bank cannot provide you with the forgotten PIN since they do not know it.  Once this happens, just call First Bank Customer Service Representatives via the number provided earlier and they will help you resolve the issue. The customer service representatives are not available on Saturdays and Sundays and on public holidays.

Aside from changing your user ID and password, you can also change the email address you had earlier attached to your online banking account. In order to do this, visit the Online Banking site and click on Options, then Personal, then Modify Personal Settings. You can then enter the new email address under the list of current email addresses. Afterward, re-enter the email address and then click on Submit tab, which is located at the lower part of the screen.

The watermark image that is connected to your Online Banking account can also be changed if you so desire. In order to do this, visit the Online Banking Home Page and click on Options, then Personal, then Modify Personal Settings, then Watermark picture. You can then carry out the necessary changes.  After changing the picture, click on Submit tab at the lower part of the screen.

You can also make changes to the nickname linked to your account by First Bank. If you like, you can also change the order in which your account is displayed on the Online Banking platform.  One other feature that makes online banking very interesting is that you can add Online Banking Alerts to your internet account.  You can set the alert to come in form of text message or email. You can also change the alert to show up each time you log in to your online banking page.  Examples of alert options available are event alert options, balance alert options, item alert options and personal alert options.

First Bank Online Banking will provide you with real-time information about your account. Every transaction you may on your online banking account will be updated immediately such transaction is completed. Your balances are displayed in two forms; there is the Available Balance and the Current Balance.  The available balance represents the amount you can withdraw at that instant.
