Barkin Ladi

The headquarters of Barkin Ladi LGA are in the town of Barkin Ladi. According to the 2006 census, Barkin Ladi has a population of 175,267 people. The local government is also host to the Plateau state Polytechnic. The postal code of the area is 932.

Bassa

Bassa is located in the northern part of Plateau state. It shares border with Kaduna and Bauchi states. Its headquarters are in the town of Bassa. The postal code of the area is 930.

Bokkos

Qua’an Pan

Qua’an Pan Local Government was carved out of Shendam Local Government on the 3rd of May, 1989, by the Ibrahim Babangida regime. Qua’an Pan LGA is located in the Southern region of Plateau state. Qua’an Pan has its headquarters in the town of Baap. According to the 2006 census, Qua’an Pan has a population of 196,929 people, as at the 2006 census. It is the fifth most populated local Government in the state. The postal code of the area is 934. There are two major tribes in the area, which are the Pan and the Goemai. The tourist attractions present in Qua’an Pan include The Pandam Game Reserve, the famous Lardang cave and the Latok waterfalls. The major occupations of the people of Qua’an Pan are farming and trading. Others engage in other trades such as blacksmithing, metal works, hunting and fishing.

Riyom

Riyom has its headquarters in the town of Riyom. Riyom LGA has a population of 131,557 people, as at the 2006 census. Riyom is predominantly populated by the Berom people. The LGA shares borders with Kaduna and Nasarawa State. It is the gateway to the State when coming in from the East and from Abuja. The postal code of the area is 931.

Shendam

Its headquarters are in the town of Shendam. According to the 2006 census, Rioym has a population of 208,017 people. The postal code of the area is 940. The major languages in Riyom are the Goemai language and many other West Chadic languages.

Wase
