UNICEF Head Office in Nigeria
The Head Office of UNICEF in Nigeria is responsible for delivering policies that guide the programmes delivered across the 10 UNICEF zonal and field offices. The Head Office provides a concise oversight framework to guide the activities of the zonal offices in achieving the goals of the programmes. Also, the zonal offices receive technical support from the Abuja UNICEF Office whenever the need arises. As a field office of the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the Lagos zonal branch provide a basis for a variety of programmes dedicated to children in areas that have a higher level of need within the zone, under the guidance of policies by UNICEF Country Office in Abuja. The Sokoto field office is responsible for the discharge of duties of UNICEF in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states. The field office is obligated to assess areas where children within this zone where are plagued with insecurities, natural disasters, and the lack of access to education, good nutrition and shelter, among others.
