Financial products offered by Jaiz bank

Jaiz Wakala Investment

This is a financial product specially tailored to corporate and high-net-worth individuals who are looking to yield high returns with commensurate risk on their investment. Under the Jaiz Wakalah investment, the bank will collect deposits from its customers and invest in a specific business venture that must have been earlier agreed on with the customer. The Bank, therefore, acts as an agent in investing the depositor’s funds in an ethical manner. The bank and the customer will have agreed on the expected profit rate to the customer and the fee of the bank.

Working Capital Financing (Murabaha)

This product is used to finance the purchase of inventory or raw materials from local sources for the customers, by the bank. The bank selects the customer as its agent to source for the goods the customer wishes to buy. The customer negotiates price, quality, and quantity, and will later communicate the outcome of the negotiation to the bank via the presentation of a proforma invoice. After which the bank will then purchase the goods by making payment to the supplier, while the agent handles the delivery of the goods. The customer pays for the cost and profit to the bank on an earlier agreed date.

Project financing/ Constructing (Istisna)

This contract is such that the customer will request that Jaiz bank should construct and sell the project to be constructed at the bank’s selling price. Thereafter. the bank will request another party (contractor) to construct the project. The payment of the bank’s selling price may be paid in full or in installments as earlier agreed. On completion of the project, the contractor will handover the project to the bank, after which the contractor will deliver the project (based on authorization) directly to customer.

Lease to own finance (Ijarawaliqtina)

This is a banking product that allows you to hire and subsequently purchase assets from the bank.
