Like every year, the magazine Forbes has published the rankings of the top 20 richest clubs and the highest-paid players in the world. Dominated by the Spanish clubs and in particularly Real Madrid and Barcelona. There are five Italian teams this year Juventus,AC Milan, Inter, Roma and Napoli. In the ranking of the top 5 richest football players in 2016 are Ronaldo, Messi, Ibrahimovic, Neymar and Gareth Bale.
The ranking takes into account the turnover, sports results and overall brand. The English Premier League is growing with eight clubs in the top twenty richest clubs for 2016, while the Bundesliga has only three teams. The English teams dominate when it comes to sponsorship and to narrow it down Manchester United and Chelsea in particular have received a substantial increase in revenue.
The data emphasize once more the value of these clubs. Real Madrid is worth a whopping 3.65 Billion Dollars, close to its tail is their biggest rivals Barcelona worth 3.56 Billion Dollars, third place is held by an English team Manchester United with a worth of 3.32 Billion Dollars and are ahead of Bayern Munich which are worth 2.68 Billion Dollars. Juventus are fifth and is the only Italian club that exceeds the billion mark and are valued at 1.3 Billion Dollars to be precise.
