This is in addition to meeting other minimum University entry requirements such as appropriate screening exercises for candidates.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Four Year Programme- Pharmacy via direct entry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students seeking admission via Direct Entry are admitted into the four-year programme. Such candidates must have obtained the following requirements:<\/p>\n<p>A pass in Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Botany or Zoology at the Higher School Certificate (Principal Level), in addition to credit passes in English language and Mathematics in (SSCE) Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates with passes at the Advanced Level should must have been obtained the biological sciences at not more than two sittings.<\/p>\n<p>A candidate who already holds a first degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in the biological sciences or medical sciences such as veterinary medicine may be admitted via direct entry.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates seeking admission via direct entry into 200 level of the Pharmacy programme must in addition to the requirements above, have obtained credit passes in the following: \u00a0Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, at the GCE \u201cA\u201d Level or HSC. These include: Hospital, Pharmaceutical Industry, the Academia, Pharmaceutical Research Institutes, Government Services and health-related NGOs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pharmacy is a science that links with health sciences and natural sciences. Pharmacists work in pharmacies such as in general merchandise, grocery stores, hospitals and other healthcare facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Community pharmacists work as consultants dispensing medications to patients and offering advice or answers to any questions that patients may have about prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, or other health concerns.<\/li>\n<li>Pharmacists may also provide some primary care services.<\/li>\n<li>Clinical pharmacists work in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings. These ones spend little time prescribing drugs. Instead, they are involved in direct care of patients. Clinical pharmacists just like Doctors may go on rounds in a hospital or healthcare facility. These ones can also recommend medications to patients and oversee the dosage and timing of the delivery of those medications.
