  1. i want to buy dstv explora decorder and i want to subscribe compact . but i want to add some chennels to it
like , plante wild and plante tv , dw tv english , sky sports and euro sports with israel itv will it cost me extra charges .or on free request

  2. I would like to know the price of the premium subscription on the dstv explora. I was informed there is an acccess fee of 2160 in addition to the usual subscription. Please could you clarify.

  3. Hi..I bought the explora from one of your outlets in alaba 4 months ago for 30, 000 but I was only given the decoder and remote control . I just read here that its supposed to come with the dish which I wasnt given. Im about to go back to the dstv office where I got my explora from and demand for the dish that wasnt included because I was told by a technician this morning that my old dish is bad and i need to buy a new one.
My question is..were all dstv outlets aware that the dish, explora and control are to be sold for 30, 000?

  4. Honestly, dstv is really swindling nigerians with their exorbitant prices. Of a truth, the premium bouquet of 13980 naira is not suppose to be more 4000 naira at most.the government of this country can’t do anything about it because they have been bribed to fence off any competiting company to establish in Nigeria.I could remember when we had only Mtn network in Nigeria that mtn openly stole from the masses by selling their line for 50,000 naira and above but when competition came from other companies, lines were sold for 100 naira and now lines are even free.let’s call evil evil.let dstv slash their highest bouquet ie premium bouquet to 3500 to 4000 or let them leave this country and they should stop bribing the government not to allow other companies who will offer us a cheaper price to come in.I bet all Nigerians that if other competitive companies should come into Nigeria, digital subscriptions for all bouquets won’t be more than 2000,just like what mtn did to us when they came into Nigeria initially by selling their line to us for 50,000 and above which later came down to 100.I rest my case

    • I agree with all your observations the country is in a total mess those in the authority are not helping the matter they are equally worsening things for the poor masses. Dstv knows very well that they are charging quite high on their subscriptions. Why should one pay for a pvr which should have been an added value for using an explorer decoder they know that none will query these things probably because they have bought them (those in authority) over.

  5. Vic, I have a walka 7 which I linked to a premium subscriber as secondary user, I usually pay 990 on it but I was told abt 3months ago that I can’t pay differently and that I need to always pay alongside with the premium acct. Pls help me on this

  6. Nice deal. DSTV is the best. Kindly, I will like to o DSTV business, by marketing and selling to my neighbourhood. Please contact me as I have this great plan of becoming part of this reputable family. Thanks…
    Tope!

  7. is cartoon network part of the channels of the smallest subscription package for dstv? because it was in it in the article and also in the additional channels in the family package. really confusing.

  8. Good Day Sir, I would appreciate it if your DSTV Company would consider a PAY AS YOU GO SYSTEM OF TARIFF instead of this your monthly subscription because we pay so much for just watching TV yet there is no light, or you may optionally extend your period of validity of each Subscription say; each subscription should last for like 3 months or so. KINDLY CONSIDER OUR NIGERIA’S ECONOMIC FACTOR.

  9. dear vic, at one point you say the explora is N60,000 and at another you say it is N30,000, please which is it because i want to purchase one and i don’t want to be duped.

    thank you.

  10. I noticed that films are been repeated every month on all African Magic Stations and even on M-net Action and other stations like that. Am beginning to lose interest because am not getting the value for what I paid for any longer. Please do something about it. Becz it becoming boring repeating films every time. Thank you.

    • I have observed that too and secondly, the movies are so old. Why should i waste money watchibg movies of 90s even the movies between 2013 down to 2000 are old to me. Why can’t Dstv air latest movies. After going through the programmes I wonder why the subscriptions are so high. I haven’t seen anything special that is been aired to attract that much. I think the highest bouquets shouldn’t be more than N4000

  11. Hello Vic, recently i listened to a dstv representative on brila FM say that dstv is sold for #12,500 with free dish, cable n a month subscription. Pls,confirm n which of ur office can i buy it.

    • Nura,
Yes you can if you already purchased the full package previously or your decoder is bad.
Walk into any DSTV office around you as the price cannot be confirmed presently.

    • My name are MR Ladigbolu babatunde.pls I make a mistake to pay into another man smart card number an this is the number.4256-9296-796.an my smart card number is 4256-9290-796.i pay around 5.31p.m yesterday and my references number is 999992238083.pls can you help me to do anything about this .my phone number is 08023388156 thanks.

  12. I noticed from trend of previous messages that vic is selective of the question he answers probably because of the negative publicity which he can’t deny. It’s alright tho, but ive learnt something about this naija.. and that is the fact that when a foreign company is ripping of Nigerian consumers, fellow Nigerians are always involved either by supporting their cause or giving them information to thrive in such an unjust cause. On the other hand, Nigerians find it really hard to unanimously boycott things like this irrespective of the fact that they would still complain in their closets. When they complain, they still don’t have the mind to see it through by using other service providers. It’s really unfortunate. If actually the consumer protection parastatal was concerned about courses like this, they should have fought tooth and nail to prevent this monopoly but make it competitive by bringing other service providers that can offer better srevives at a more competitive price… that’s the only solution.
    I rest my case!

  13. Good afternoon,

  18. I will like to know the cost of only a decoder. I will also like to know if there are choices of using one smart card on two different decoders in two different states. Kindly revert back. Thank you

  19. I will like to know why will DSTV be sending SMS to their customers to renew their subscription and get 1 month free, but when I called their customer care to validate their message, they said one would be in a raffle draw to qualify, meaning you might subscribe and get nothing…
    T&C apply… SMH

  20. When are you commencing Xmas promo for DSTV? And what is the current price of DSTV explora decoder in Nigeria.I will like to know the cost implications of multiple viewing using 3 DSTV decoders in terms of monthly subscriptions. I need to weigh my options have a faulty decoder that I bought 2 years ago, your office refused to accept and amend it.

  21. Pls how do I search for my free to air channels on dstv family.I dont normally have access to any channel as soon as my subscription expires and I learnt there are free to air on that bouquet.Pls may I be put through.

  22. Hello vic why dont you answer some question that some people ask you after you know that it touch your company, you only answer a simple question but remember one day another company will soon come out and i pray so on that day your company wiss lament?

  23. Can somebody please encourage BSKYB to bring their cable to Africa, they provide full cable, internet and phone calls for less than 10k…they also allow you to view over 100 channels when your subscription expires. Why is DSTV reaping us of our hard earned cash and only leave you with Chinese station when your subscription expires. They should pack up and go. We want competition to make them run for the money they take from the masses. Crap!

  24. Dstv port harcourt studium road Rivers is making thins difficult to us, please why is it that the refuse us not to pay for compact of 6000Naria rather insisted that its 9420Naria we must pay for compact, why my brother who leaves in lagos pay 6k for compact.

this is cheating, you people should call them and put them in order before i report to EFCC.

    Your Honorable
    Engr Nelson.

  25. Good day! i noticed there is no where i can find list of channels on each bouquets. if there is, please direct me so i can see to decide which to pay for. Thanks

  26. After paying 9.450 yet i can’t watch premier league and when compact plus was 7850 we could watch premier league. Now DSTV increased the price and took premier league to S5.which is wrong, if DSTV is saying they increased the price bcos of dollar rate ,so why take premier league to S5? .after my subscription expires I won’t use DSTV again .I rather buy startimes for my family and watch premier league at the viewing centres afterall at the end of the month I won’t spend 1000 and I will watch all the matches then waste 9450 yet can’t watch premier league. Nigerians I advice we all do this.and push DSTV away so better people will come in

  27. Good evening. I subscribed for DSTV compact at the price of #6000 but so many channels are missing like Ebony life tv, Disney Junior, TLC, Telemundo and others i may not know about. Please how can this be fixed?

  28. Pls my dstv decorder has just been paired with two other dstv decorders to share d same premium subscription but to my greatest suprise, i can only view super sports channels and some free to air channels like NTA, AIT, etc. When i want to view d other channels it will tell me my smart card is not enabled for this channel. It may dat my account has been suspended. Pls what do i do?

  29. Hello,

Please i have the normal decoder but will likecto upgrade to the explora
    1. can i still use the formal dish.
    2. is my subscription still the same.
    3.how much is the explora.
    3. how much is the explora

    • Hello Israel,
The price of the DSTV Explora is N65,000 as written in the post.
You can use your normal dish, however the N65,000 covers the entire package which includes the Explora Decoder and a dish.
AND yes the subscription is still the same!

  30. DSTV should do something about their customers on Compact plus bouquet,it is unreasonable for Dstv to allow alot of people to pay for this bouquet and later disconnect them from watching english premier league on SS3.This is absolutely wickedness.

  31. u guys are impossible, u are taking the advantage of monopoly of the business to extort nigerians, its not fair taking away English league from ss3. I hate dstv for milking me dry

  32. pls I want to find out why I dont hv Supper sports 10 on my dstv compact plus i subscribe for #9,420 because on ur website it has ss3, ss7, and ss10 but I only have 3 and 7 why?and I need infonation on how I can have ss5 too pls thanks

  33. You guys dstv are ripper, other country pay less money in cable stations, even in india i pay 960 rupee which is 3000 naira per month, for more than 100 stations and 35 HD stations(Movies and sports HD) with 5 4k station, and i use TATA SKY HD DVR (Digital Video Recorder) HD with live record, Play, pause and rewind features, with added service like karaoke with mic. and i got the TATA HD BOX for 7400 rupee, which is almost 22,000 to 23,000 naira. We need to grow up for all this, remember what MTN did to us, until Airtel, Glo and Etisalat came out, we need a good local company satellite cable station, made in nigeria for Nigerians.

  34. don’t you people think the price we are paying for communication line is too much, even at time of show the network will just scramble for some hour and before you know all viewers/our customer would have gone and the match itself would have finished, and that does not affect your company and our money is going,so what do u intend to do on this?

  35. Dstv is defrauding Nigerians. We want ‘pay as you watch’. I just bought metro decoder and its wonderful with many sports channels than hopeless Dstv and the price is very cheap.

  36. i want to know the procedure and what it take to set up a multichoice outlet in marraraba nasararawa state, where subscription can be easily pay by dstv customer.thanks

  37. Why is it that dstv are cheating, calling us f00ls and letting know, why?

  38. For the past 1week my dstv has been showing without audio. I have called customer service and sent emails. It takes forever to get response. I visted the dstv office here in Akure with my decoder and I was told that I would have to go to Ibadan to change the decoder because it is faulty. Why can’t the Akure office liase with Ibadan on my behalf to change the decoder? I don’t have the time to go to Ibadan now. One of your agents called me today to ask why I haven’t been using my dstv, after explaining to her the problem, she just hung up without as much as a Solution. Please help! This is poor customer service and I am really dissatisfied.
