One of the most common questions is what is the cost of subscribing monthly to any of the DSTV bouquets?

Here’s your answer below:

I just read here that its supposed to come with the dish which I wasnt given. Im about to go back to the dstv office where I got my explora from and demand for the dish that wasnt included because I was told by a technician this morning that my old dish is bad and i need to buy a new one.
My question is..were all dstv outlets aware that the dish, explora and control are to be sold for 30, 000?

Honestly, dstv is really swindling nigerians with their exorbitant prices. Of a truth, the premium bouquet of 13980 naira is not suppose to be more 4000 naira at most.the government of this country can’t do anything about it because they have been bribed to fence off any competiting company to establish in Nigeria.I could remember when we had only Mtn network in Nigeria that mtn openly stole from the masses by selling their line for 50,000 naira and above but when competition came from other companies, lines were sold for 100 naira and now lines are even free.let’s call evil evil.let dstv slash their highest bouquet ie premium bouquet to 3500 to 4000 or let them leave this country and they should stop bribing the government not to allow other companies who will offer us a cheaper price to come in.I bet all Nigerians that if other competitive companies should come into Nigeria, digital subscriptions for all bouquets won’t be more than 2000,just like what mtn did to us when they came into Nigeria initially by selling their line to us for 50,000 and above which later came down to 100.I rest my case

I agree with all your observations the country is in a total mess those in the authority are not helping the matter they are equally worsening things for the poor masses. Dstv knows very well that they are charging quite high on their subscriptions. Why should one pay for a pvr which should have been an added value for using an explorer decoder they know that none will query these things probably because they have bought them (those in authority) over.

Good Day Sir, I would appreciate it if your DSTV Company would consider a PAY AS YOU GO SYSTEM OF TARIFF instead of this your monthly subscription because we pay so much for just watching TV yet there is no light, or you may optionally extend your period of validity of each Subscription say; each subscription should last for like 3 months or so. KINDLY CONSIDER OUR NIGERIA’S ECONOMIC FACTOR.

Am beginning to lose interest because am not getting the value for what I paid for any longer. Please do something about it. Becz it becoming boring repeating films every time. Thank you.

I have observed that too and secondly, the movies are so old. Why should i waste money watchibg movies of 90s even the movies between 2013 down to 2000 are old to me. Why can’t Dstv air latest movies. After going through the programmes I wonder why the subscriptions are so high. I haven’t seen anything special that is been aired to attract that much. I think the highest bouquets shouldn’t be more than N4000

I noticed from trend of previous messages that vic is selective of the question he answers probably because of the negative publicity which he can’t deny. It’s alright tho, but ive learnt something about this naija.. and that is the fact that when a foreign company is ripping of Nigerian consumers, fellow Nigerians are always involved either by supporting their cause or giving them information to thrive in such an unjust cause. On the other hand, Nigerians find it really hard to unanimously boycott things like this irrespective of the fact that they would still complain in their closets. When they complain, they still don’t have the mind to see it through by using other service providers. It’s really unfortunate. If actually the consumer protection parastatal was concerned about courses like this, they should have fought tooth and nail to prevent this monopoly but make it competitive by bringing other service providers that can offer better srevives at a more competitive price… that’s the only solution.
    I rest my case!

Why is DSTV reaping us of our hard earned cash and only leave you with Chinese station when your subscription expires. They should pack up and go. Now DSTV increased the price and took premier league to S5.which is wrong, if DSTV is saying they increased the price bcos of dollar rate ,so why take premier league to S5? .after my subscription expires I won’t use DSTV again .I rather buy startimes for my family and watch premier league at the viewing centres afterall at the end of the month I won’t spend 1000 and I will watch all the matches then waste 9450 yet can’t watch premier league. Nigerians I advice we all do this.and push DSTV away so better people will come in

You guys dstv are ripper, other country pay less money in cable stations, even in india i pay 960 rupee which is 3000 naira per month, for more than 100 stations and 35 HD stations(Movies and sports HD) with 5 4k station, and i use TATA SKY HD DVR (Digital Video Recorder) HD with live record, Play, pause and rewind features, with added service like karaoke with mic. and i got the TATA HD BOX for 7400 rupee, which is almost 22,000 to 23,000 naira. We need to grow up for all this, remember what MTN did to us, until Airtel, Glo and Etisalat came out, we need a good local company satellite cable station, made in nigeria for Nigerians.

don’t you people think the price we are paying for communication line is too much, even at time of show the network will just scramble for some hour and before you know all viewers/our customer would have gone and the match itself would have finished, and that does not affect your company and our money is going,so what do u intend to do on this?

Dstv is defrauding Nigerians. We want ‘pay as you watch’. I just bought metro decoder and its wonderful with many sports channels than hopeless Dstv and the price is very cheap.

Why is it that dstv are cheating, calling us f00ls and letting know, why?
Your service to us here on our land is dissatisfied, you promised NTA, AIT, Channels, MITV , and Silver bird to be free to air, but as soon as the subscription expires the so called pay as you go, you tagged free to air will disappear, why?

For the past 1week my dstv has been showing without audio. I have called customer service and sent emails. It takes forever to get response. I visted the dstv office here in Akure with my decoder and I was told that I would have to go to Ibadan to change the decoder because it is faulty. Why can’t the Akure office liase with Ibadan on my behalf to change the decoder? I don’t have the time to go to Ibadan now. One of your agents called me today to ask why I haven’t been using my dstv, after explaining to her the problem, she just hung up without as much as a Solution. Please help! This is poor customer service and I am really dissatisfied.
