How to Get a Kenyan Visa in Nigeria

Kenya is an east African country with a population of 44.35million and a lot of landmarks and natural features. Forget what the media portrays and the picture of Kenya that’s being depicted. What are the categories?

Nationals of the following countries do NOT need a Kenya visa:

Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Botswana, Brunei-Darussalam, Cyprus, Dominica, Ethiopia, Fiji Islands, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, San Marino, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, St Lucia, St Vincent & The Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Turkey, Tuvalu, Uganda, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

If you are NOT a citizen of any of the above countries and you wish to enter Kenya you must obtain a visa in advance.

Applications from Nationals of the following countries have to be referred to Nairobi for approval:

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Senegal, Somalia, Tajikistan, Yemen, Stateless Persons

What documents will be required?

  • Valid Passport (must be at least six months valid from the intended date of return).
  • Completed Visa Application Form V.1 in duplicate.
  • Active mobile number.
  • Travel itinerary or business letter.
  • A passport sized photograph (2 x 2).
  • White and yellow copies of non-refundable fee receipt from Commercial Bank of Africa payable in shillings.

Time required to issue visa

Kenyan visa applications are usually processed in 7 business days. Rush service may be available for additional fees.

How long is the Visa valid for?

A single-entry Kenya visa is valid for three months. It must be activated within six months of the date of issue.

When is the best time to apply?

It is very advisable to apply for a Kenyan Visa six months before the intended period of travel
