davido biographyDavid ‘Davido’ Adeleke is a popular Nigerian musician who came into limelight in 2011 after his rave hit single ‘Back When’. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States on November 21st 1992.

Davido was born into a very wealthy family. His father, Adedeji Adeleke is a billionaire business man while his late mother, Mrs. Veronica Adeleke was a University Lecturer before she passed on.

Davido began his education at the popular British International School, Lagos from where he moved to Oakwood University to study Business Administration but had to move back to Nigeria. Upon getting to Nigeria, Davido enrolled in Babcock University, Ogun State to continue his education.

While he was in the United States, Davido was a member of a musical group called the KB International. It was while he was with this group that he honed his musical talents before he decided to move back to Nigeria.

In May 2011, Davido released his first single titled “Back When”. The music became an instant hit and was well received by music lovers all around Africa. He followed up with another hit single’ Dami Duro’ in October 2011. Since then, it has been back to back hits from the very talented singer. Some of his other hit singles include ‘Aye’, ‘Skelewu’, ‘Overseas’ and ‘Gobe’.

Davido has also collaborated with a lot of Nigerian and International music acts. He collaborated with the South African singing group, Mafikizolo for the single ‘Tchelete’, Diamond Platinumz for ‘Number one’ and several other artists including Tiwa Savage, Lola Rae, Sarkodie and Mi Casa.

Davido has also had his own fair share of controversies. In 2012, a picture of him and what appeared to be a hooker in bed was circulated over the internet and just when his fans thought that it was a terrible slip which would never be repeated; another photo surfaced with yet another hooker.

There have also been controversies about the singer’s involvement in street/club fights, problems with law enforcement agents and aggressive behaviors in the past.

Davido has had endorsement deals with big brands like MTN and Guinness in the past. He once signed a N30 Million deal to become a brand ambassador for MTN.

At the age of 20, Davido acquired a N140 Million mansion for himself in the Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos.

Davido has received dozens of awards and nominations in Nigeria and internationally. He is currently credited with about 26 awards and 48 awards nominations to his name.

David Adeleke is not only a great singer, he is also a father. In May 2015, the crooner had a daughter with his older ex-girlfriend, Sofie Momodu. He took to his social media pages to announce the birth of his daughter on the 15th of May, 2015 and also revealed that his daughter gets the biggest room in his newly acquired vacation home in Atlanta.

Although David has been linked to many women in the past, he is currently dating Sira Kante, a 19-year old model from Guinea. Although rumors have been circulating online that the pair have broken up.
