Davido Concert Sells Out 20,000 Capacity O2 London Arena

David Adeleke, known on stage as Davido and popularly called OBO made headlines once again on the 27th of January 2019 as he made history selling out the gigantic O2 arena in London.

Davido, always compared to Wizkid when it comes to who is the biggest solo artiste in Nigeria became the second artiste after Wizkid who also sold out his AfroRepublik concert in 2018 at the same O2 arena.

Members of his record label Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Idowest, Dremo, Yonda and Zlatan also performed at the arena setting the stage on fire.

After the concert ended Davido bragged by saying “I Talk am I Do am” after selling out 20,000 Capacity O2 Arena in London.

Boy Calls Out Davido For Failing To Fulfill His Promise (December 31, 2018)

After his concert in December 2018, Davido, and his crew took to Insta stories to mock a boy who he had promised a million naira. The boy had called out Davido for not fulfilling his promise as earlier stated.

It would be recalled that Davido had promised the boy 1 million naira at his concert for fighting for ladies who were being rough handled, while other men promised to take their share from the singer’s promise.

However, a few days after the event, the boy called out Davido for not making true his promise. The boy revealed he had called a certain Lati who was supposed to make the money transfer to him, but Lati asked him never to call him.

Davido Recounts On His Instagram Page How He Was Sued A Few Days To His Concert (December 31, 2018)

Davido’s Baby Mamas Unite In Friendship (December 29, 2018)

Early in December 2018, the women in Davido’s life, Sophia and Amanda were seen united in friendship. This came as a surprise considering how fractured their relationship had been in the past.

Sophia Momodu and Amanda who both have a daughter for Davido look to have embraced the fact that they are family. They were seen together in Davido’s music video and they also slayed together for Davido’s end of the year show with their pretty daughters who seems to be best of friends already.

I Was Raped At Davido’s Live-In Concert – Karimah (December 28, 2018)

During the Davido Live in Concert in December 2018, a fan, Karimah revealed that she was robbed and sexually assaulted by a man during the show and she allegedly that the singer saw her the moment she was being harassed but ignored her.

According to Karimah, she lost her phone, ATM card and money as a grown man groped her and inserted his fingers in my privates and continuously beat her up. She also revealed that she fell down on broken glass during the incident.

Davido reacted to her allegation by apologizing for the ugly experience and promising to restore all that was stolen from her.

Davido Assaults Kizz Daniel’s Manager (December 28, 2018)

After the Davido Live in concert on the 27th of December, there were reports that Davido had slapped Kizz Daniel’s manager at back stage while his show was ongoing.

The embittered manager, Tumi Lawrence revealed on Twitter and called out Davido expressing his disappointment.

But the singer denied the allegations when responded to a fan’s comment to apologize to Kizz Daniel’s manager, he wrote: “Ok kiss Daniel manager I apologize for doing nothing.”

The show was initially tagged City of David Concert according to Davido and it was later renamed Davido Live In Concert. The concert took place at the Oceans View Ground, Eko Hotel, Lagos.

Davido revealed that he didn’t slap Kizz Daniel’s manager. However, the manager, Oluwatumininu Lawrence disclosed that he was not even sure it was Davido who slapped him but Davido was the closest person to him, so there is the possibility he was the culprit.

According to Lawrence, they had been waiting for like two hours to perform and they had cancelled other engagements so that they could show Davido some love.

Lawrence recounted that he noticed someone pushing him from behind and when he looked back he saw it was Davido. And when he was asked who he was and he responded that he was Kizz Daniel’s manager and the next thing was they poured a drink on his face and slapped him. According to Lawrence, people around were saying it was David himself but he wasn’t certain. The singer recounted his ordeal in a telephone conversation with Linda Ikeji.

It would be recalled that Kizz Daniel had featured Davido in the song, ‘One Ticket’ which was released in early December.

Davido’s Surprises Chioma During His End of The Year Concert (December 28, 2018)

Davido’s girlfriend, Chioma revealed on social media that she had the worst experience of her life on Christmas day and Davido decided to make it up to her at his end of the year concert in Lagos on Thursday, December 27, 2019, with a romantic show off to his teeming fans and lovers.

Davido Reveals His Intention to Move To Banana Island (December 23, 2018)

Davido revealed that he will be relocating to Banana Island after his new car got delivered in Nigeria. He disclosed this when a follower had told him to come and park in his father’s house as his house in Lekki might have no extra space for a new car.

Davido Performs Alongside Other Musical Artist at Plugged 2018 in Port Harcourt (December 18, 2018)

Davido visited Port Harcourt in December 2018 where he met with the Governor of the state and also performed alongside other Rivers-based artistes at the concert, Plugged.

Davido Shows Interest in Politics (December 17, 2018)

In September 2018, Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke was in the running to become the Governor of Osun state. It would be recalled that Davido was heavily involved in the campaign as he rolled out the drums to campaign for his uncle. The singer moved from town to town in Osun, mounting on PDP vehicles, to the delight of music freaks. Billboards in the state also showed pictures of the singer in traditional dress, leaning on an empty black leather chair next to the Nigerian flag.

Unfortunately, Senator Adeleke failed to clinch the governorship seat of Osun losing to the current Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

But the loss didn’t seem to signal the end of Davido’s interest in politics as he recently named the Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, as his Godfather.  The musician also disclosed that he has been working with the State Government to support new generation artistes in the state as he was looking to organize a talent hunt in Port Harcourt where the winner of the show will perform during his concert in December.

Davido Assaults Photographer In Gambia (December 13, 2018)

It was revealed that Davido had allegedly assaulted a photographer in Gambia when he visited the country for a show. The photographer, Kenny Egbuke filed a complaint against Davido at the Kololo Police station and the Gambian police are currently looking into the matter

The story emanated from an incident when a female fan approached Davido for a selfie but he responded by shouting at her. It was then the photographer stepped in and tried to talk to Davido to take it easy with the lady. Unfortunately, this went downhill from there because the singer threw his thick and heavy cognac glass directly at Egbuke, shattering his lips and skull.

It was also revealed that Davido had even attempted to break the Hennessey bottle on his head, but his bouncers saved the day.

The singer didn’t comment on these allegations.

Davido Banned from NYSC (December 7, 2018)

Davido came under fire for allegedly travelling to Boston for US Tour when he is supposed to be at the Lagos camp observing the mandatory 3 weeks orientation period of the one-year National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, scheme.

It was revealed that the music pop star consistently flouted the Bye-laws guiding the NYSC, scheme with his frequent travels.

The bye-laws of NYSC states the following conditions for corps members during the orientation period. It states that, “”During the period of orientation, every member shall: (i) Attend regularly, punctually and participate fully in all official engagements on the field, at lecture and all places of work; (ii) Not leave the Orientation Camp or absent himself from any official activity without the written consent of the State Director or his representative; (iii) When absent from his duties on account of illness ensure that such absence is covered by an Excuse Duty Certificate issued by a medical doctor on duty at the camp.” The bye-laws, however, stipulates that “Leaving the camp without permission of the State Director” will attract “extension of the service year by double the number of days for which the member was absent from his camp and forfeiture of his allowance for the same number of days of which he was absent.”

But Davido disobeyed these rules as he left camp immediately after his registration. The musician travelled out of the country to Boston for his ‘Locked Up’ U.S tour.

Eventually, the singer revealed in a post on social media that his NYSC exercise has been cancelled by the officials although there has been no official statement regarding his statement.

Davido Threatens Ayo Jaguda, For Downgrading His New Release, “Wonder Woman” (December 10, 2018)

The drama started when Jaguda tweeted about Davido’s latest song, “Wonder Woman” claiming the song was trash. He further stated that he was surprised how the video got to 1m views in 24 hours.

Davido responded to his claims that if he ever steps foot in Nigeria, he will deal with him.

Davido Drops News Single (December 6, 2018)

Davido released a new single for his fans, the song was titled “Wonder Woman” and was released on Friday, 6^th December 2018.

According to a statement on his Instagram page, Davido announced “New music Friday ‘Wonder Woman’!!!!!! We are nothing without Women! Let’s end the year off right!”

He also revealed that he would take more time to rest in 2019 as he said of the new year, “I can’t come and kill myself “.

Davido Promised to Pay the School Fee Of A Fan Who Called Him Out For His Songwriting Skill (October 29, 2018)

A 17-year-old student, Maryam shaded Davido’s songwriting skill during an exchange on Instagram. The singer then slid into Maryam’s DM and body-shame her after which he blocked her.

The student then called him out when she shared her side of the story on the social network. This led to reactions from fans with people calling Davido out for sexism.

The singer responded by unblocking Maryam and offering to pay her tuition.

Davido Looking To Expand His Business Empire (October 17, 2018)

In October 2018, Davido revealed in an Instagram post that he won’t settle for money coming from his music alone as he is looking to expand his business empire by venturing into motorsports.

The singer took to his Instagram page on Monday to reveal the latest business, in the picture that was posted he is seen posing next to one of the decorated sport racing cars.
