Bells University Courses & Requirements

Bells University is a private University established by the Bells Educational Foundation and located in Ota, Ogun state. The University runs five colleges and various programs under each. This article gives comprehensive information on the programs and courses offered by the school in addition to the requirements for admission into the school.

Bells University Courses & Requirements

College of Management Sciences (COLMANS)

Programs under this college include:

– B. Sc. Business Administration (With Options in Marketing, Business computing, Human Resource Management and International Business)

– B. Sc. Economics

– B. Sc. Finance and Banking 

– B. Sc. Accounting

– B. Sc. Management Technology (with options in transport management and logistics & project management) 

Admission Requirements

Candidates must have five (5) O’ level credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two subjects in SSCE or its equivalent at one or two sittings

  • For B. Sc Programmes, the core subjects are Mathematics, Economics and any other subject.
  • For B. Tech Programme, the core subjects are English, Mathematics and any other three subjects with at least one science subject. .

    Direct Entry Admission Requirements:

    Requirements for B Sc. Finance and Banking, B Sc. Economics, B Sc. Accounting, B Sc. Business Administration:

 Two A’ Level passes in any two of Economics, Geography and Mathematics.

Requirements for B Sc. Management Technology

  • Two A’ level passes in either physics or Mathematics in addition to two other science or social science subjects.
  • ND with minimum of Upper Credit in any related field from any institution recognized by the school.

College of Natural And Applied Sciences (COLNAS)

Department of Physical Sciences:

– B. Sc. Physics with Electronics

– B. Sc. Applied Mathematics with Statistics

Department of Computer Science and Information Technology:

– B.Tech. Computer Science

– B.Tech. Information Technology

Department of Chemical and Food Sciences:

– B. Sc. Biochemistry

Department of Biological Sciences:

Admission RequirementsFor admission into the departments of Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry and Biochemistry, candidates must have:

  • Five O’ level credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and either of Biology, Geography, Agricultural Science or Further Mathematics at one or two sittings 

For admission into the departments of Physics with Electronics and Applied Mathematics with Statistics, candidates must have:

  • Five O’ level credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and one other Science subject at one or two sittings.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements:

Admission into the department of Microbiology: A’ Level passes in Biology and Physics/ Chemistry.

For admission into the department of Industrial Chemistry/ Biochemistry: Candidates must have a minimum of Upper Credit at the ND or its equivalent in subjects such as Science Laboratory Technology or Food Science and Technology.

For admission into the departments of Physics with Electronics or Applied Mathematics with Statistics:

  • A’ Level passes in Physics, Mathematics/Chemistry. 
  • ND at Upper Credit in Physics, Mathematics or Physics and Mathematics

    For admission into Food, Technology and Nutrition Programmes, candidates must have the following qualification:
  • Five O’ level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Agricultural Science/ Geography or Economics/ Food and Nutrition at one or two sittings
  • For all programmes in the College, a pass in Physics is acceptable. However, the candidate must still meet the requirements of  5 level credits.

    Admission Requirements for Direct Entry:
  • Two A’ Level passes including Chemistry/ Physics/ Biology/ Mathematics

HND/ND at Upper Credit in Food Science and Technology or Science Laboratory Technology with options in Biology/Virology or Chemistry/Biochemistry


Special consideration/Waiver

For candidates applying to the departments of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as Culinary Science and Hospitality Management, Physics may be exempted.

Admission requirements into the department of Computer Science and Information Technology: 

Five O’ level credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Economics, Biology or Geography, obtained at one or two sittings

Special Consideration/Waiver

A Pass in Chemistry at O ‘ level is acceptable.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements:

  • Two A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics
  • ND in Computer Science with at least an upper credit from any recognized Polytechnic.

College of Environmental Sciences (COLENVS)

Available Programmes under this college are:

B Sc. Architecture (4 years)

– B.Tech. Building Technology

– B.Tech. Estate Management

– B.Tech. Quantity Surveying

– B.Tech. Surveying and Geoinformatics

– B.Tech. Urban and Regional Planning


Admission Requirements for Environmental Sciences Courses 

For the following programs: B Sc. Architecture, B. Tech. Building Technology, B. Tech. Quantity Surveying, B. Tech. Surveying and Geoinformatics, candidates must have the qualification below:

  • Five O’ level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and other two from the following: Chemistry, Biology, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Geography, Economics, Building Construction and Land Surveying, obtained at one or two sittings.

For admission into B. Tech. Estate Management: five O’ level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, and Technical Drawing, obtained at one or two sittings

 

For admission into B. Tech. Urban and Regional Planning: Five O’ level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing and Fine Arts, obtained at one sitting or two sittings

Direct Entry Admission Requirements:

  • Two A’ Level passes from Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Chemistry, Economics
  • National Diploma in any relevant course of study with at least Upper Credit from a recognized University or Polytechnic.

College of Engineering (COLENG)

Admission Requirements for Engineering Courses 

  • Five (5) O’ Level Credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject, obtained at one or two sittings

    Direct Entry Admission Requirements:
  • A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics
  • National Diploma in any relevant area of study with at least an upper credit from a recognized university or polytechnic.
