SNAP Chat is a messaging service although not as popular as the WhatsApp and BBM in Nigeria has revealed it’s partnering with payments company Square on Snapcash, which will allow users to quickly send money to friends via the platform.
The payments processing would be handled by Square. The Chatting App would let a user add their debit card account details and they can start sending and receiving money by swiping into chat however this service is not yet available in Nigeria but in U.S. Typing a dollar sign and amount and hitting the green button to send.
Snapchat launched in September 2011, and has become one of the hottest mobile apps available. The company has not disclosed user numbers, but a reports as at august from reliable sources says the service topped 100 million monthly users.
This would be a welcomed development when it hits Nigeria eventually.
