You probably don’t know your tariff plan. And you’re wondering if your mobile network is really giving you good value for your subscription.

Well, there’s a way to find out. Checking your current tariff plan isn’t rocket science. You just need to know the right code to dial.

We’ll be addressing this in this post. But first let’s take a look at the different mobile network and their tariff plans because knowing the different tariff plans will make it easy for you to migrate if you think your current plan isn’t your best option.

How to Check Your Current Tariff Plan: MTN Tariff Plans

MTN Tru Talk+

With this plan, you can make calls to any mobile network within Nigeria for as low as 11kobo/sec. And you can make international calls to selected countries at an affordable rate of 20kobo/secs. You can dial 12321# to know the countries you can call at this rate

However, the tariff plan attracts a daily access fee of N5 which is deducted from your account after your first call of the day.

You can dial this code *123*20# to migrate to the MTN TrueTalk+ or you can simply text TP to 131.

MTN Beta Talk

The MTN Beta Talk comes with amazing bonus. With this plan, you can get up to 250% bonus airtime everytime you recharge N100 and above. In addition to this, you’ll get 10MB worth of data every week with this plan.

However, the calls to mobile networks within the country are at a rate of 42 kobo/sec. initially, your calls will be charged from your bonus account at a rate of 45kobo/sec and when this is exhausted, you will be charged from your main account at the rate of 42 kobo/sec.

The code for migration to this tariff plan is *123*2*6# or you can text BT to 131.

MTN XtraPro

MTN Xtra Pro is another exciting tariff plan and it is quite affordable. With this plan, you can make calls at 11k/sec or 6.60k/min to all mobile networks in Nigeria. However, the daily access fee to this plan is N5. If you don’t have up to N5 when making your first call, your calls will be charged at a rate of 20kobo/sec for that whole day.

You can migrate to this plan by dialing *401# and select 1 or you can simply text 401 to 131

MTN Xtra Special

MTN Xtra Special Plan is a tariff plan that allows you to make calls to all mobile networks in Nigeria at 15kobo/sec or N9/min with your MTN line.

Also, the call rate to international countries is quite cheap. You can make international calls to selected countries at the same local rate of 15kobo/sec. These countries include Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Thailand, Sweden, South Korea, Israel, Hong Kong, Norway, Pakistan, Romania, Finland, Denmark, Cyprus, Singapore, Malta, Mexico, Bulgaria, and Luxembourg.

If you want to migrate to this plan you can dial *408# and choose 1 or you can text 408 to 131.

MTN SuperSaver Plus

MTN SuperSaver Plus enables you make calls to any local network at a cheap rate of 15kobo/sec after you have been charged 40kobo/sec in your first minute if it’s an MTN number. This tariff plan doesn’t require a daily access fee or monthly subscription fee.

Also, you can enjoy free happy hour calls to MTN numbers from 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. daily. In this case, you must have a minimum balance of N100 Naira in your account before you can enjoy Free Happy Hour Calls.

If you want to migrate to this plan, you can text 408 to 131 or just dial *408*1#.

MTN Pulse   

With this plan, you will be charged 40kobo/sec for the first minute of your first call to an MTN number but your remaining calls to other MTN numbers that day will be charged at the rate of 15kobo/sec or 11kobo/sec.

If you want to migrate to this plan, just dial *406# and select 1

How to Check Your Current Tariff Plan: Airtel Tariff Plans

smart CONNECT

This is the default tariff plans for all new prepaid customers. This plan offers bonuses on every recharge. These include:

  • 200% bonus on all recharges of at least N200
  • 15MB weekly free data on recharges from N
  • N300 weekly family and friends’ bonus on recharges of at least N200
  • 7 Hours of night call between 11pm and 6am at 11k/sec

With this plan, you can recharge N100 to get N800, N200 to get N1600, N300 to get N2400, N500 to get N4000 and N1000 to N8000.

However, the bonus available on the smart CONNECT plan is valid for 7 days.

If you don’t like your default smart CONNECT tariff plan, you can migrate to any of the other tariff plans like:

smart PREMIER

With this plan you can make calls for as low as 11k/sec to all networks in Nigeria as well as selected foreign countries. With the foreign calls, you will be charged 40k/sec for the first minute of the day.

smartTALK 2.0

smartTALK 2.0 is another interesting prepaid plan but you will need to have a balance of N5 to initiate calls on this plan.

You can dial *315# to migrate to this plan.

smartTRYBE

smartTRYBE provides one of the best rates on both data and calls. If you want to migrate to this plan simply dial *312#.

smartVALUE

This plan allows you to make calls at 15kobo/sec and there’s no daily access fee. You can migrate to this plan by dialling *314#

How to Check Your Current Tariff Plan: Glo Tariff Plans

Glo Bounce

Glo Bounce allows you make calls to mobile networks in the country at 15k/s and 11k/s to all your friends and relatives who use Glo Bounce Tariff. If you prefer this plan, you can dial *170*4# to migrate.

Glo Bumpa

This plan comes with exciting bonuses. You can get up to 200% bonus for every recharge starting from N100 and more. If you want to go this route, you can dial *100*10*1# to migrate

Glo Infinito

With this plan, you can make calls to different networks at just 22k/s. and you can call your family and friends at a rate of 11k/s. you can provide a list of 10 special numbers to call at this rate.

Glo G Bam

Glo G Bam offers you 11k/s for calls however you can only provide 5 special numbers unlike the Glo Infinito Tariff plan. You can dial *100*5*1# to migrate to this plan.

9Mobile Moretalk

9Mobile Morecliq

This plan comes with access to free midnight calls from 12:30am to 4:30am. The call rate when calling other Morecliq subscribers is 15k/sec when you use more than N25 daily but 20k/sec to normal 9mobile lines and 30k/sec to other networks.

If you want to subscribe to this plan, dial the USSD code *244*1#.
