Facebook which is used by more than 1.11 billion users have unveiled a New App that focuses on the social network’s popular Groups.
Groups on Facebook is used by more than 700 million Facebook users follows in the footsteps of Messenger with its own standalone experience, the company revealed Tuesday. It’s already available for Android and iOS devices.
When users open the app, they’ll see the list of Groups, with the ones users visit most frequently at the top. Users can also create new Groups from within the app, discover groups and set separate notifications.
What’s different about Groups is, unlike Messenger, it will still be accessible on the primary Facebook app.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg hinted at the value of standalone experiences during a recent Q&A. When asked about Messenger, Zuckerberg cited the need to increase engagament.
“We saw that all of the messaging apps that people were using and they relied on the most were these dedicated and focused experiences,” said Zuckerberg.
