A lot of people got to know about Olajumoke when she appeared on the cover of ThisDay Style magazine. But the truth is her journey to prominence began before then.

Prior to becoming a bread seller, Olajumoke was trained as a hairdresser in Osun State but her quest to make ends meet for her family was what made her become a bread seller in Lagos.

Olajumoke is married to Sunday Orisaguna. They met during her apprenticeship as a hairdresser. According to him, he toasted her for 6 months before she eventually accepted his overtures.

The couple married in 2010 and their union is blessed with two lovely girls. However, their marriage wasn’t without its own challenges. The family could barely make ends meet and this was what made Olajumoke decide to relocate to Lagos.

Little did she know she would be stepping into the hands of destiny which would eventually turn her life and that of her family for good.

Olajumoke took along with her 16 months old daughter with her while the older child was left with her husband.

For over a year, Olajumoke worked very hard to support her family but she really didn’t make much progress. Her average day involved selling bread from 2.30 p.m to 11.00 p.m in which she made N7000 but she usually had just N350 after remitting the cost of her bread stock to her supplier.

One day, while working hard as usual, Olajumoke was caught on camera during a photoshoot organized by the British rapper Tinnie Tempah.

TY Bello, the photographer in charge of the shoot would eventually find something fascinating while reviewing the photos.

She thought that Olajumoke had the potential of becoming a model and Tinnie Tempah seem to agree with her. TY Bello went ahead to post the picture which had Olajumoke on instagram with the caption below.

“BEATIFULX: WHO IS SHE? Everyone has been asking if this lady is a model.. It was just perfect coincidence … She just happened to be walking by while I photographed. It happened so fast. She definitely SHOULD be a model. .. I’m happy to help her build a portfolio if she’s interested. She’s so beautiful and photographed so well. I’ll find a way to track her down somehow. After posting Olajumoke’s picture on social media, the post garnered an overwhelming reaction as many thought Olajumoke was already a model at that time.

This was the confirmation TY Bello needed and she reached out to Olajumoke, offering to launch her modelling career. Olajumoke agreed and immediately, the photographer arranged a photoshoot for her.

The outcome of this shoot was Olajumoke’s photo appearing on the cover of the Thisday Style magazine which many people saw. This led to the series of events that launched Olajumoke’s career as a model.

Shortly after appearing on the magazine cover, Olajumoke signed a contract with Few modelling agency. She did some studio photo shoots where she further affirmed her model status with drop dead gorgeous look.

At this point, it had become a cycle of one opportunity to the other.

TY Bello recalls the event that led to her discovery of Olajumoke.

“She seemed a little confused, some people were asking her to walk past really quickly, others were asking her to stay, she was just in limbo. I said ‘is it ok to take your photograph?’ And she nodded ok.”

Olajumoke newfound job as a model enabled her husband and their 5 year old daughter to move to Lagos.

Also, the Sujimoto group initiated a scholarship scheme along with Poise Nigeria where Olajumoke is currently being taught Communication, Etiquette, social graces and grooming. Poise is Nigeria’s first and most prestigious finishing school. Her family was also given accommodation by the Sujimoto group.

Additionally, her children were offered educational grants by one of the commercial banks in the country. Olajumoke was also given a scholarship to completer her education

Olajumoke’s story has been featured on CNN. The beauty of Olajumoke’s story according to TY Bello is that everyone can connect to it. According to TY Bello, “Everyone connected with the story because everybody has dreams,” argues Bello.”This is a very tough time in my country… Everyone is looking for that magical break… I think this is definitely divine because the way people have connected with it is just phenomenal. It’s a phenomenal story.”

When Olajumoke was interviewed recently, she recounted how she never expected this to happen to her. She says her friends have been calling her and her parents cannot believe her new found fame and success.

In another interview with Encomium, Olajumoke along with her husband made some interesting statements about their marriage talked about her life alongside her husband.

This is what Olajumoke has to say,

I cannot leave my husband. He too cannot leave me because we love each other. My marriage will remain intact by God’s grace. And God will also help me to continue to be level-headed.”

Here’s what Sunday has to say also,

“I am not afraid because when we had nothing, she was always there. If I said I needed this, she would give me. I am not afraid. If she is rich today, we both own it. I trust her for that. She has been a very good wife. I believe she will continue to be good.”

Overall, Sunday seems to be very happy with his wife’s fame and he counts himself as a really fortunate man.
