Best State University in Nigeria

Nigerian universities are divided into Federal universities; those established and funded by the Federal Government, State Universities; those established and funded by various state governments and private universities which are owned and managed by private individuals.

There are about 36 state universities in Nigeria and they include the following-:

The best state universities in Nigeria are-:

1. Lagos State University (LASU)

Lagos State University was established in 1983 and has a student population of more than 60,000 African Students. LASU offers undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees and is very well equipped. LASU also has a lot of notable Nigerians on its alumni list.

2. Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAU)

AAU is ranked as the 2nd best state university in Nigeria. It was established in 1981 and has churned out thousands of graduates.

3. Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU)

OOU is the third best state university in Nigeria with about 70,000 students. It was founded in 1982 and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses.

4. Delta State University

The third best state university in Nigeria is Delta State, University. Although, slightly younger than the other universities on the list. DELSU is able to compete with other universities on the list in terms of quality education, facilities and cultural transformation.

5. Rivers State University of Science and Technology

Rivers State University of Science and Technology is the fifth best state university according to recent rankings. It is located in Orowrukwo area of Rivers state and equipped with the best facilities for learning and research. It also has a very good and well equipped library.

Ekiti State University, Kogi State University, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Niger- Delta University, Yenagoa are also among the very well-equipped universities with high standard of learning in Nigeria.
